Good summary Polly. I've never made it through Colditz simply because of the overbearing background, or rather foreground, music. It is far too loud and often which does my head in. A shame, because the ideas and set up are interesting. Well, I promise there's a good story under there if ever you can hear it above the din, but the sound mixing was really weird. I can see why you'd get sick of it and never go back.

The Liberator Chronicles 5
5.1 Logic - a good story and entertaining, though overshadowed by the other releases in this volume
5.2 Risk Management - the setup for this story takes a long time, but the second half and the ending are very good. The story structure would have worked much better with a full cast rather than the two-handed format of the Chronicles.
5.3 Three - one of the best B7 stories you could get. It places the weight of the drama on hints and innuendo from Servalan, in a way that holds up to repeat listening. You never know quite where Servalan is headed, or how much of what she says is truth, and Jacqueline Pearce's strong performance infuses the whole story with a growing discomfort at being in close quarters with her character. This story definitely plays to the actors' strengths and makes good use of the format.
Excellent! We've been spoiled with full casts over the past few years, but those Liberator Chronicles contain some of my favourite Blake's 7 stories of all time.

UNIT Cyber-Reality. Last episode. OMG. The Master is awesome. Deliciously evil, lethally clever and most of all- fun! This is the best of the set and elevates it well above average.

Took advantage of the sale for 4th DA-Comic Strip Adaptations
I recently gave these comics to my little nephew as a gift and sat reading them so they were pretty fresh in my mind. These actually are well fun and Tom is in great form

The Girl Who Never Was
The eighth Doctor and Charley’s dynamic back to its best in their final outing. Honestly this story feels like everything after Zagreus never happened (I don’t think C’rizz is even mentioned by name). All in all a good story with fine twists and Cybermen on decent, if somewhat unoriginal, form as well.

5h Doctor "Prisoner Of Fate" on the plane trip to and from interstate this weekend. It temporarily took my mind off the searing pain I still have from my operation 13 days ago(!!) argh. This story still gets me, for me it's such an emotional story. I just think what if I was in Nyssa's position and i couldn't see my son (and who she named him after OMG). Q the lump in my throat. damn. the feelz! Always with the feelz this story !

Static
I do like a ghost story for before Christmas and 'Static' has become a fixture in my December listening list. Part spooky ghost story, part classic Who science fiction, I love it from the gripping opening scene all the way to the end...
And it reminded me again what a splendid TARDIS team this is - and they've been recording again! Hooray!

Recently a friend of mine send me some 20 years old German fanzines which I have already superficially scanned though... and believe it or not, the Starbeast comic is in there. In German translation. Random. Will check it out when time and mood come along. Maybe it enthuses me enough to get the audio.

I'd never read the comic strips so to me they were simply new Fourth Doctor stories and I loved them. Fun stories and Tom in sparkling top form, they are wonderful

At least for me. No idea how this new story compares. I have the hope if I read the comic this is based on it would change my point of view. Normally I love absurd stories.

In Beep’s defence, I kind of think that’s rather the point when it comes to him. The fact that everyone considers him public enemy number one even though he is really irritating yet cute as a button I think is what makes his character rather appealing. Be like if one of the Care Bears or the Clangers became a foul mouthed despot.
All this talk about Meep has got me wondering though, could he be the villain which “will get people talking” as Colin Baker remarked recently about a new adventure he has recorded?

Blood of the Daleks
A solid beginning for the Eighth Doctor Adventures. Lucie makes a strong debut and her chemistry with a grumpier Eighth Doctor works well.
