The Sins of Captain John : Restoration
There's nothing like an historical imo and this is nothing like historical! (Or else Charles II had the official records heavily redacted!) Restoration horror comedy in Olde London Town with Captain John doing what he does best. And probably doing it again after a brief interval... he'll steal anything anytime, after all. (Why, what did you think I meant?)
Lots of fun with good characters and I loved the narrative style. This set is going to be a ball.

So behind on my collection, now listening to The Paternoster Gang Heritage 2 The Screaming Ceiling by Guy Adams. Can’t get into Paternoster YET- I know you enjoyed River a little another episode I really thing you’d enjoy is RIVER SONG 2- FIVE TWENTY NINE its a pity you cannot buy individual episodes of the box sets though understandable for BFs point of view this is an excellent stand alone,River without her Doctors tale which is just a wonderful that is as far as am concerned better than Dorneys Absent Friends from Doom Coalition and since it’s by same author I hope he doesn’t mind.Once again it shows that if you move River out of her SMUG TV persona and put her into a great wee story magic happens for the Character. Hope one Day maybe you buy it for this story alone.

On the train yesterday I had another listen to Robophobia, which is never quite as good on a relisten because we know what happens, but nevertheless the atmosphere and excellent cast is still fantastic.

Finished Prisoners of the Lake and was pleasantly surprised. The story was interesting and atmospheric and Jo and Mike were used well. The Doctor/ narration is also well implemented and does not get in the way of the flow of the story. I can already say that I liked this more than the second volume. I also made it into the beginning of Havoc of Empires and it is just fun banter between Jo, Mike and the Doctor. Using the TARDIS to travel to a romantic date is a great idea. I wonder now at the absence of Mike from the future ones has he given up? I was wondering that, too. It is so nice to have some background romance going on between Jo and Mike. And I do like Richard Franklin. He should come along more often, even if people criticise that he does not sound young anymore. But it comes back down to "actor sounding exactly like the original" to "actor catching the spirit of the character". I much more prefer an actor who catches the spirit, than a sound-alike. Best example is Katy, she just IS Jo. And she does an amazing 3rd Doctor in the audiobooks. She totally can channel the spirit.

Son of the Dragon. A brilliant, brilliant story. James Purefroy is truly chilling as Vlad and Peter is on top form. Also, in my humble opinion, never gave a bad performance as Erimem.

Alone.

I'm guessing Aaron Lamont was inspired by the legendary "Ghostwatch" (remember that?) and on audio the tension of such a story was ramped up tenfold. The best of the Dark Shadows I've been listening to and the only one that really did freak me out. And yeah, couldn't agree with you more about Kathryn - she absolutely nailed Maggie's hysteria and anguish brilliantly. 😊

The Sins of Captain John : 2 Escape From Nabaz
John does a prison break with all his usual subtlety, tact and puritanical self-restraint. Effortlessly slipping under the radar so no-one could tell he was ever there... (who am I kidding?!) Chaos, and fun!

Am somewhat incapacitated lately... my mother is coming up to shampoo my carpet which is getting replaced next month...because you cannot possibly throw out an old carpet not looking at its best lol
Dark Shadows 36-The Lucifer Gambit-Eric Wallace
As they say The Legend Continues- great cast and thoroughly enjoyable tale...but never heard a bad Dark Shadows tale to be honest .I enjoy them all-If Sapphire and Steel ever come back hand over the complete reigns to Joe Lidster and his team

‘Kingdom Come’ A fanmade adaptation of perhaps one of the greatest superheroes stories ever written. A good effort and I particularly like their presentation of the Spectre.
