It's live on Soundcloud. Just going to listen again! Update: in so far as you can judge from a trailer - thoughts on first listen: Wadham has really come into his own in the 'lighter' style of the later seasons; Olivia Poulet is good but it'll take me some getting used to her as Mrs Peel. Second listen: Poulet is FABULOUS, I love her as Mrs Peel already. My only concern: the overall style sounds a bit more forced-crazy-series-5 in style (I'm a series 4 aficionado above all else). But then that does fit with the timing of the publication of the comic strips.

Ooh dear, I'm not sure about this. The reason I loved the 'lost episodes' is that they had a certain realism, and the main characters were believable and had a certain dynamic - I much preferred that take on The Avengers to the rather smug-yet-fun psychedelia of later, colour adventures. This trailer, to me, sounds like a collection of silly voices and 'zany-ness' - which you could say is an accurate take on those later stories, but I'm not sure how I feel about it.
This is only a trailer of course, and as such the style is much condensed. I have these adaptions on pre-order because I loved the earlier adventures so much, so ... well, we'll see.

Fun and zany psychedelia sounds good to me, the groovier the better.
I love The Avengers. Moffat and Appleby wrre perfect in the Springbok radio series and im sure the new pairing will do a fine job.
Lets hope we will get original adventures of The Avengers in 2017.

If BF do continue The Avengers beyond what is currently available, I wonder if they'll go for adventures involving Keel and Steed, or Peel and Steed? Or will they be unable to resist all three featuring in stories together?

Quite interested in this after listening to the trailer. I haven't heard any of the Steed & Keel stories, so it's strange hearing Julian Wadham as Steed - I guess I'm used to hearing McNee. Still, I may well take a chance on this on Thursday Cheers Tony

Tony, check out the excellent Springbok radio Avengers for a different take on Steed and Peel. 20 fantastic audios, all well over an hour long...for free!

Thanks Cheers Tony UPDATE: I've listened to A Deadly Gift ( "brought to you by cold water omo" and thoroughly enjoyed it. I remember the story from the TV and while I thought Steed sounded more like Roger Moore, it didn't detract from the story at all. Based on this, I doubt I'll have any problem with Wadham and Poulet .
