I recorded a bunch of Baker ones off BBC America I haven't seen too. Not sure when I will find the chance to watch them though.

There are 2 bits of this forum to discuss Dr who.
This one is harder to find.
Shall we just use the other one?

Sure. I think kimalysong is right. Too many categories on this forum.
Although a good way to find new postings is to go to the bottom of the home page and click on "Recent Threads". You'll see only new posts from every thread and you won't have to scroll through the home page as much.

Well yesterday I watched Brain of Morbius and today it's Hand of Fear. Love that BBC America is showing classic Baker episodes.
Although it would be nice to see some of the other Doctors represented as well I know especially in the US Tom Baker is Classic Who.
I've noticed they are repeating the same episodes throughout the month. I hope they can license some more in the future.

Today it was Robots of Death (now I finally understand why Liv Chenka has those lines down her face)
Anyways I really enjoyed this one but was especially impressed with the robots design. Classic Who fdifnt always have the best effects but I thought those robot designs stand up even today. They were suitably cool & creepy at the same time.

I think it is odd that Liv lost those lines in Dark Eyes. I suppose they were just for fashion, a type of make up they put on each day!? As for the design of the Robots they are "classic" in many ways. I always thought that they were and should be a one-off villain, but Robophobia proved me wrong and I would love for the Fourth Doctor to encounter them again. I know that there was a follow up novel Corpse Marker by the same author, so I can only hope that a novel adaption could happen. But I remember that some thought it unlikely due to it's recent reprint.

Last night I watched "The Time Monster". It certainly wasn't as bad as some would make out. It was interesting to hear the Third doctor talk about his home on Gallifrey and there definitely isn't any love lost between the Doctor and the Master in this one.
All in all an enjoyable romp ... in the style of the "The Romans".
Cheers

I really didn't like Adric the first time I powered through Doctor Who but on rewatching Keeper, he was a decent companion at times (I recall enjoying him in Kinda and Black Orchid as well). As for me, that story miiiight just crack my top twenty classic Who serials. I enjoyed it in any case.

In the last few weeks I've been watching a bunch of 4th Doctor stories since BBC America is airing some of them. So in about 2 weeks I've watched Genesis of The Daleks, Terror of The Zygons, The Hand of Fear, City Of Death and Logopolis. When you watch these episodes so close together, you really get a sense of how Tom's performance and the style of the show changed over time. I really got the sense that he was just tired by the time of Logopolis.

He went from basically running season 17 because that season became "The Tom Baker Show" to being told to reign in his antics by J-NT for season 18 & wasn't happy with the changes so he left, i think it shows in his performances throughout season 18 he wants to be gone.

I saw a documentary on a classic who did, Tom goes into detail about how he even recognised he had become a monster on set, there is some cracking out takes of him swearing and demanding they just get on with it, stop faffing around.

The Brain of Morbius
This is another story I hadn't seen before, butI think this will become a guilty pleasure. It's not the best story, and the acting and effects are as cheesy as they come but I really loved it for whatever reason.

My hubby and I have been watching Power of Kroll. We both looked at each other and burst out laughing at the cheesy effect of Kroll getting that guy at the end of episode two. We kinda got stalled on finishing the serial cause of too much to do, but I hope to finish off the last episode this week.

My wife and I still do the hand gestures whenever someone says Kroll (as I have just done lol). It cracks us up every time ... a bit like the Sisterhood of Karn in The Brain of Morbius Cheers Tony
