I noticed the line "further cast details to be announced" which seemed odd. Either they only recorded the major stars last week and still haven't done the villain and incidental characters etc. (which would seem a bit odd) or they're hoping to slot in some cameos.

It's also done to help spread out the announcements, like they did with Dark Shadows Blood and Fire. After the week where Outbreak wasn't available to pre-order it helps to build the hype back up.

I wondered if it was the reason for the delay. If they haven't recorded the villain yet, they could be hoping to get a big name in, and maybe they were hoping to have a contract signed by Monday but it didn't come off.

What if the villain is a Doctor? It could be John Hurt as the War Doctor, who has somehow ended up on Earth away from the Time War and acts differently to how the Doctor usually would due to all his years spent at war. OR: it's the Year of the Master at Big Finish, so what if the villain is either Professor YANA or John Simm's Master? Professor YANA would require some sort of mechanic to explain how he knows he's the Master despite being chameleon arched unless it was before he chameleon arched himself.

Didn't Eve Myles sent out some interesting tweets that had people speculating the Master may be involved in the last release of the second season, Made You Look?

Outbreak completed recording last week - nothing else to add. It's purely to hold back announcements. And, just to quash speculation, Eve's comments about the master visiting studio were in relation to RTD popping in to say hello!

He did a Stan Lee?

Pre-ordered! Oh I do certainly hope you're on to something there :3 Me too. One can never get too much Torchwood (unless they're too young for it, in which case pop on Sarah Jane Adventures instead). Has anyone else noticed that the production code for this box set is BFPTWCD20 where as the last in season two is BFPTWCD12 which could mean there is another season of character driven pieces on the way and maybe another special too!!! Fingers Crossed!!! TommyP xD

Although holding back announcements is just evil. Didn't realise you were a lurker here, welcome, and I hope you enjoy seeing how worked up we all got trying to decipher your goings-on last week. We certainly enjoyed trying to decipher the Twitter trail, although I did start to feel rather uncomfortably like a stalker when I started reporting on your train journeys.

I've still got my fingers crossed for a return of Owen someday, since he's the only one of the original Torchwood five we haven't seen back yet. I imagine Burn Gorman's probably really busy, though...

Very glad to see the announcement on the news page and the cover for this. Yet another wish granted by Big Finish!

Can't wait for this. The storyline sounds very tense.

Sounds great and online a lot sooner then I excepted, but again its odd we've got the guest characters so heavily in it when we don't know the guest cast yet.

That was a great trailer. I have a feeling this is going to be one of Big Finish's best releases to date.

According to a reply to a letter in July's VORTEX Outbreak is "self-contained and stand alone".
