regenerationwho.com/Not officially announced yet but apparently Michelle Gomez is coming on the Sat & Sun. Now I really want to go. Edit: And I registered to go although since I probably won't be able to take an extra day off work I will most likely skip Friday!

They have big plans for even more guests. it will be in downtown Baltimore by the Inner Harbor next year. Looking forward to meeting you (and anyone else from the forum who goes).

Looking forward to meeting you (and anyone else from the forum who goes). I am familiar with the area and the hotel. I have been going to Otakon at the Baltimore convention center there for many years. I stayed in the hotel where the con is held once it's very nice. I will be doing the Coffee with the Creators on Sunday (sadly Tea with the Doctor was sold out). Since you went before do you think the VIP levels are worth it? Looking forward to meeting you as well. !

I did not buy any of the VIP levels and had a great time. The first three levels basically get you special items, so they are basically only if you think those items are worth the cost. You don't get reserved seating until you get to Tier 4. The main event area is going to be large enough that it shouldn't matter.

I see they booked Karen Gillan for (Re)GenerationWho 3. I have mixed feelings about this. Obviously it's quite a coup and a great news for the con, but I liked the emphasis on the classic series.
Oh well, I'll look on the bright side. More publicity is only good news, and this just means shorter lines for when I go to see Sylvester McCoy.

I am surprised they were able to get so many big New Who guests.
Arthur Darville is coming to their sister General Sci-Fi con but it would have been nice if he was coming to this too. As having both Amy & Rory together would have been really cool.
Edit: Just looked at prices for photo-ops and autographs. The downside of getting a lot of good guests at cons. Can't afford everyone I want so will have to make some difficult choices.

I'm impressed, but I'm not completely surprised.
I managed to catch Oni's panel at Balticon 50. It was on the subject of running a convention. I actually went in without knowing this. I was just like "Hey, people from (Re)Generation Who. This is going to be a wonderful panel."
They really have their act together. A lot of fan conventions are long on passion and short on the know-how that sustains a con year on year, and they have a fusion of each of these components in what has to be the optimal ratio. I had a chance to talk with each of the organizers briefly (they probably don't remember *me* but my wife's weeping angel costume was a big hit at the con) and everybody really impressed me.

The prices are out of my desired price range, but I guess they get those guests for very little upfront money except a guarantee that they'll get some minimum amount through the autographs and photo-ops. Otherwise, the convention price would probably be sky high.

Yes, some photo-ops and autographs are out of my price range. It's why I still don't have a photo op/autograph of Karen Gillan, in spite of having seen her at several cons in my part of the world.
Billie Piper and Alex Kingston were pricey at the cons where I met them, but I split the cost with a friend or two and we ordered an extra print of the photo. I've also made the decision to pay more than I normally would if I think it may be my only chance to meet a particular actor.
Where are you seeing the prices for Regeneration Who photo ops and autographs? Not seeing it on the site.

Did anyone catch last night's livestream? Ingrid Oliver, John Peel, George Mann and Paul Magrs(!!!) were all announced last night. I'm even more interested in attending now, and very impressed with how diverse the pool of guests is.
