I am sad I missed the podcast stuff but I already embarrassed myself on the podcast once so perhaps it's for the best.
I think what he's doing is just recording snippets at a time. He's got a microphone hooked up to his phone, and I think he's just recording anything that might be interesting and he'll sort through it later when he gets back.
So there is still time to embarass yourself, is what I'm saying
Had a great weekend. Ingrid Oliver & Sylvester McCoy who I had not had the pleasure to see at cons before were both fantastic.
Met a few lovely people Paul Magrs and Andrew Cartmel and got to talk quite a bit with Nick Briggs at this con and briefly with Jason.
But my personal highlight was finally meeting Robert Shearman who was absolutely lovely and so gracious.
Yup. Same here! More thoughts tomorrow, because I'm pretty beat after the con and the long drive home. It was pretty great. I love the shows Onezumi puts together.
I think Robert Shearman may be the perfect human being. Just so gracious and so happy to be there. And Paul Magrs has the best head of hair I've ever seen on a human being. Loved it, loved it, loved it!
If you saw the Weeping Angel in the hallways on Sunday morning and early afternoon, that was my wife. She managed to make it down late Saturday night and got some time in on the last day of the con.
Yikes. Is that really what my hair looked like?! Why did nobody tell me?!
Very nice. I appreciated that you used a dedicated camera instead of just using your phone.
I think I was the only one of us who attended the Ace panel on Sunday (I didn't see either of you guys there), but it was a lot of fun and it's really exactly what I want out of a convention panel. Two Ace superfans plus Andew Cartmel. I just love the sincere enthusiasm you get. Plus we got to talk about Hex and Rayne, and how often does that opportunity present itself?
It's an underated skill, but I noticed what a great facilitator Cartmel was on these panels. He was so good at recognizing the opportunity in a question and redirecting it to another guest. "Oh, Paul, don't you have a story about that?"
Strange there wasn't anything in the Podcast from the Panels , except the introductions, even from the BF Panel.
Was recording the Panels banned?
I recorded my panel. A friend has a podcast and he handled the audio recording and another friend recorded it on her phone. The convention staff just wanted to look over our gear to make sure it wouldn't interfere with their equipment, but they were fine with the act of recording itself.
