What We Do in the ShadowsOh my god Got to love Taika Waititi! And, the movie is based on a real story (kind of)- a few years back, there was a case of some self-styled "vampires" attacking people at night in Wellington and biting people.

Heavy Metal 2000 Enjoyable film, fun movie. Got to love violent animation
Fortress I'd forgotten some of the cast who appeared in this. Also mine has the full original ending so happy with that

When Marnie Was There. Gorgeous film. I love Studio Ghibli. I had this movie recommended to me before- but since I am not really into animated stuff, I held off so far. So you could definitely recommend it to me?
At least in respect to Amelie we appear to have similar tastes...

Seeing Aladdin later today. Will report back. Naomi Scott might need a chiropractor because she carried that movie.

Anyone got any recommendations for some solid sci-fi B-films?

And it was filmed in Australia too, there was a "famous" Aussie Rules Football player in it stinking up the screen LOL

Yep Vernon Wells, Jeffrey Coombs, Kurtwood Smith and Clifton Collins Jr (although he's credited as Clifton Gonzalez Gonzalez)

Anyone got any recommendations for some solid sci-fi B-films? I'm never quite sure what makes a 'B' movie B (budget? speed? running time? naffness?), it simply can be a synonym for '50s B&W sci-fi'. I think the following are 50s (mostly B&W) classics, some of extraordinary quality, which leave any more recent remakes zapped with a neutronic death-laser and turned to liqui-plasmic green goo
Creature from the Black Lagoon
The Day the Earth Stood Still The Fly Forbidden Planet
The Incredible Shrinking Man Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Thing From Another World
OK maybe this next one does have a certain B-ness about it, but it's fun!
The Blob

Well, for me, these are more real classics than "B-movies"...
When I hear B-movie, the things popping into my mind are more like "Sharknado", "Snakes on a Plane", "Jurassic attack", or "Sabretooth"...
Oh, and I forgot. My absolute favorite B-movies of course- the 2005 "The Cave" and "Apollo 18".
I think they are amazing. If you switch your brain off beforehand, that is.

Behind the Curve. Interesting documentary about the phenomenon of flat-Earthers. It hits quite a wide spectrum of emotional notes.
