It's tomorrow? Was that confirmed somewhere? I'm looking forward to it! Ianto isn't my favorite character, but his other BF outing was pretty great, and a Jack/Ianto episode has buckets of potential. I don't think BF's released a bad Torchwood release yet, so I'm sure it won't disappoint. Interested to see if/how it ties in to the larger Committee arc.

Apologies to Ianto and Janto Fans
Sorry if I wasn't sold on the relationship before, I positively dislike it now.
whingey, winey. "Life's rubbish send him to slave mine Life's good no get a phone call life's still rubbish, rescue him from the slave mines, become friends with benefits life becomes more bearable? Oh please!
I may now cheer next time I watch the Children of Earth scene.
The Barmaid not knowing the full story of the portal might've been better too.
Regards

No apologies necessary, I'm sure. Not everyone likes every story and not everyone likes certain stories every listen.
I really liked this one myself. I found it very well-balanced and well-paced, and tremendously engaging. Wonderful to have John and David both in the same audio and I think extremely good use was made of the opportunity.
I think the motivations of people in the story were plausible enough even if I didn't like some of them, and understandable enough even if questionable. This audio might still have benefited somewhat from another ten minutes for scoldings for certain decisions that were really not the trivial matters they might have almost tried to seem from the time allotted, yet I think the story would have been poorer for it if they'd been swapped in for anything else. All very well done, really.
Possibly I'm biased as I am something of a Joseph Lidster fan since he's been involved in a good number of projects and stories that I really like - I do try to be prepared to be critical, but I have yet to experience a story by Joe that has disappointed, and this is certainly no exception.

So that was interesting. Begins right after Cyberwoman and ends hours after Greeks Bearing Gifts.
No Committee ties that I could see.
And, uh, was that a Scorchies invasion that Jack & Ianto fought off there in that one scene?
Edit: The interviews just confirmed that it was!

So over on GB I run a thread that examines the New Series & its spinoffs through the lens of "Audios Only", as in, pretend the show doesn't exist, piece continuity together from the audios. This includes the BF stuff, The Dalek Conquests, and the audio originals that BBC Audio & others have put out for the 10th, 11th, & 12th Doctors, Sarah Jane, &, of course, Torchwood.
This release, Broken, proves very important in such a context, as it fills some continuity for Torchwood that was missing in the audios. In the process of learning more about Ianto and how he got to where he is today, we hear about Canary Worf and Yvonne's fate, why Ianto's in Cardiff, and some other details. I was very excited when I realized this, and thought I'd share.

I loved it. I always hated how Jack and Ianto's relationship just happened on TV, without dealing with anything that had gone before. It was never believable to me. I'm not sure this completely rectifies that, but it's a start. Ianto was always the everyday guy who gets thrown into the Torchwood life, and I think this deals with the ramifications of that really well.
I also like how it fills in the TV continuity.

I finally got a chance to listen to this yesterday since I was travelling when it was released. I definitely enjoyed it. In addition to what others have already said about filling in the missing chunk of Jack/Ianto relationship development in series 1 and the overall brilliant performance, I appreciated the more raw and human look at the fallout/consequences each Torchwood adventure has on the team members. (And not just Ianto, whose journey is obviously the focus of this one, but also the mentions of Tosh after Greeks Bearing Gifts and Countrycide, for instance.)
Like barnabaslives I did feel like I wanted something like 10 more minutes of it, spaced throughout, just to see some of the conversations for a bit longer and to allow them to come to their conclusions (for instance some of the jumps between events at the Hub and Mandy commenting at the bar felt somewhat abrupt to me).
It was also interesting how this highlights Jack's difficulty connecting with Ianto and the rest of the team -- he asks multiple times "what was that all about?" without seeming to have any other things to try asking, and the resolution felt more like Ianto finding his own path, rather than Jack having really succeeded at connecting. It, I think, showcases the Torchwood team just being a group fallible people who are trying their best but still have a rough time of it, and is also an interesting foreshadowing of the end of series 1, when the entire team ends up betraying Jack. But maybe I'm reading too much into it, who knows.

I enjoyed it too, and thought it added some interesting background. It was not at all what I expected from the teasers, but very good.
