So first of, I have only seen a few of the Star Trek Movies and a couple episodes of the T.V Show(TNG), But am a huge fan of what I saw. Now, knowing that it is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary, I decided to do a Chronological Watch-Thru of The Complete Star Trek T.V Shows and Movies, which I decided would be more fun if I shared my thoughts so you guys could see each story through the eyes of a Newbie. So I hope you guys Enjoy my musings of a newbie as I watch the entire Star Trek Collection!

That's quite a watch through you're doing. I'm a big fan of TOS and DS9 and you may have inspired me to do another pass through those, plus the first six films and the reboot trilogy. Been looking for an excuse to watch the new 4K restoration blu ray of Wrath of Khan, anyway.

I'm also doing a complete rewatch but not in chronological order. I've watched TOS, TNG and the first 10 films. Am just up to "The Alternate" in season 2 of DS9.

Decent running order. Personally I put Enterprise after Voyager, because with some of the storylines it feels more to me like it fits there, kind of as a prequel to the JJ movies. Won't go into more detail to avoid spoilers.

I hope you realize that this will take forever. I tried that once. I made it to the begginning of TNG before I gave up and just watched whichever episodes I wanted to. If you really want to be a completist, you can also watch the Animated Series in between TOS and TMP. The animation is awful, and the writing is pretty inconsistent, but it has its moments. Also, if you really want to follow a strict chronological order, don't watch These Are The Voyages (the awful enterprise finale) until right after you watch the TNG episode Pegasus. {Minor Spoiler} These Are The Voyages is set during Pegasus with Riker playing a holonovel set ten years after the rest of Enterprise season 4.

It always seems like Enterprise can still be the timeline that the characters in the other series live in (which the awful These are the Voyages would seem to support). Besides, season 4 especially, really feels like it should be before TOS.

If you find yourself struggling with the series at one point, I'd recommend skipping ahead to an episode called "Anomaly" in Season 3 and continuing from there.

I'd start with the first episode of season 3, if you're going to skip ahead. It isn't as good as the second, but it sets up a lot of stuff that is important later on. Apart from the Borg episode, I don't think the time travel in First Contact significantly changed history for Enterprise. By the end of the movie history played out, more or less, the way it was supposed to.

That's a very good point on both counts, "The Xindi" was intended by the producers to be a second pilot for the series. You'll kind of see them all over Trek actually, TNG Season 3 had "Evolution", DS9 Season 4 had "The Way of the Warrior", Voyager had "Scorpion" and "Night". icecreamdf you are a braver person than I to do a solid chronological marathon, I skipped quite a few seasons during my run of each show. I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to your retrospects. Good hunting.

I made it through Enterprise, TOS, TAS, the first six movies, the beginning of the seventh movie, and a couple of seasons of TNG. I think my main problem was that I felt that I couldn't watch any episodes except what I was up to chronologically. Since masterdoctor hasn't seen as much Trek, he/she will probably not have the same problem.

Blegh. Sorry masterdoctor is who I meant. Brexit threw me through an absolute loop last night. Please don't worry about it, hope you feel better after Brexit Thanks. The initial shock of it is slowly, but surely subsiding. Now it's almost like watching the Berlin Wall come down...

My Watch Through has Begun! Enterprise Season 1 Episode 1 and 2. First of, with the exception of Hoshi Sato, I thought all of the characters were very fun and rounded each other out(Hoshi was just kind of there and did nothing to advance the plot or even contribute to anything of note). Secondly, The Pilot set up what's to come with the perfect amount of mystery and intrigue. Lastly, but the most important. Scott Bakula is an T.V Hero! With his role as Archer as well as Sam Beckett in Quantum Leap and Agent Pride in NCIS: New Orleans, He just keeps you wanting more every time. Enterprise is shaping up to be great!

She gets more to do before the season ends. If you want to know what character is really "just kind of there"... {Spoiler} Its Travis. He gets a couple of episodes focused on him early on, but before long he's lucky to get any dialogue that isn't related to driving the ship.

I should watch my favorite TOS episodes again at least and maybe the TOS films but there is also many new things I like to watch. TOS is definitely my favorite with Doctor McCoy being my favorite character. But I've seen many episode of Voyager and TNG as well.
I also have an audio drama of the orginal script for City on the Edge of Forever. It's just the process of getting it from my computer onto my phone that isn't appealing to me.
