If anyone knows Alan, please let him know that he is very welcome if he wants to join us. Cheers Tony I was about to ask/propose the very same thing. I'll give him directions here and see what happens! Paul - what about Simon B, does he lurk around forums with the rest of us? BTW - I passed on my congrats to Simon for Gasogene, same goes to you, a great story!

I added a poll to the first post. If there is a lot of interest we can add one.
We don't want to have a lot of barely used boards cluttering up the forum. So that is why we didn't add one at first. But always feel free to ask if you want a board added and we can see if there is enough interest.

And if we get a lot of threads on the Avengers, we can always decide to group them into a sub-board later.

I'm not sure if a forum is called for, but a sub-section of this area would be sensible - as it would for all series that BF issue.

Only if they get traffic. A sub board for three threads takes up space and makes the forum seem underused in my view

Just to play devil's advocate, I ought to point out that on the old BF forum the Avengers board had far more traffic than either The Omega Factor or The Prisoner - not that we can necessarily assume that past performance is an indicator of future performance. Obviously it's sensible to wait and see if discussion ensues. I can't see why it wouldn't, though - that would imply that only Doctor Who fans had migrated here from the old forum, and I'm sure that's not true. PS: Hello Alan!

I hope we've made a home for everyone, although it's harder for us to reach out to none Who fans as it's less clear to us how we contact them, personal messages have been left for a lot of people on the old BF forum, but not only does that mean they need to stop by the old forum (and why would they?) but that one of the people sending messages remembered their name and thought to send them a message, it's possible that many none Who fans got missed. If you have any ideas about how we might reach out to people let us know, it's something we are keen to do.

I'd like an Avengers subforum. I enjoyed the first set, and the remaining sets are near the top of my list to get next.

After all, since we moved to this forum, we haven't yet had any new releases out to discuss, and only one (albeit significant) piece of news to chat about - the casting of Emma Peel. Over 50 threads built up at the old place over the course of the first four releases! Next year will be an exciting year in Big Finish Avengersland.

It will indeed, with the last 3 box sets of Keel and Steed and the (re)launch of the Steed and Emma Peel stories...and let's hope both parings get original audio adventures in the future. I love The Avengers....and I want MORE

If there was a separate board for "The Avengers", I could ask whether anybody knows what's happened to the announced "Batman '66/The Avengers" comic. (yes, I know it's got nothing to do with Big Finish as such...)

(yes, I know it's got nothing to do with Big Finish as such...) How separate would it be? It's either Big Finish or not. It's non-trivial / impossible to have a structure that suits everything. I know it's all fuzzy but... you can post that under TV/Book/Film/Game > Other for example

Only if they get traffic. A sub board for three threads takes up space and makes the forum seem underused in my view But how do you know what traffic anything gets until you set up an area? I've not posted about The Avengers yet because it's not clear where to do so - an "everything else" area, "World of Big Finish" or whatever, sends a message of "not important". It feels like these releases are being marginalised on this forum - I know that's not the intention, but it is the impression I got when I first arrived here. An Avengers area won't get the traffic that the Doctor Who area/s get, for sure, but there'll be more Avengers discussion if the forum is seen to support the range.

This is going to sound insufferably pedantic, but I'm going to say it anyway. Could the admins consider changing the description of the 'Worlds of Big Finish' board? There's something about "Other releases that don't merit a whole board" that sounds unnecessarily harsh. (The word "merit", specifically.) As Alan says, I know that's not the intention - but...

The Avengers has been one of the most consistent ranges Big Finish has produced since its introduction. Perhaps with the comic strip adaptations coming out, interest in the new(ish) line will spike a renewed interest and increased discussion.
