The BBC's dramatisation of the Holmes story, The Red Headed League. Clive Merrison as Holmes and Michael Williams as Watson are fantastic. I do enjoy all of the Merrison and Williams ones. I do enjoy the Hound one but I feel the Bf version is better being more expansive. Last night I did some Poirot ones from BBC-so good. Any particular favourites from Poirot? I was very fond of the Three Act Tragedy and Appointment with Death adaptations with David Suchet.

Same as you actually but on Audio, Death on The Nile(on Audio) but basically I enjoy all the audios. Death on the Nile was beautifully done on TV with a great cast. Three Act was well done on TELLY and on audio. Appointment with Death (on Audio)I enjoy because it is a more faithful adaptation than the TV shows terrible, terrible one they took a great story and should just have adapted it straight adding a whole lot of nonsense.Even I would have killed Mrs Boynton in the book and on the audio, lol in the Tv adaptation she would have lived and I would have bumped off everyone else 🤪 John Moffat really was excellent as Audio Poirot and it was nice also that Japp was still played by Philip Jackson on the audios.julie Mackenzie on the Audio was super as Arriadne Oliver but she sure was a let down as Miss Marple (IMO) It was actually Endless Night -Christie adaptation from My BBC Audio that led me to “Night Thoughts” which led to BF and all the other dramatisations I listen to.Endless Night is crackingly chilling adaptation.(and it stars a very young Dan Starkey).

I tried a of the BF Holmes stories but sadly for me I can't stand Briggs, he's a terrible actor although I get the feeling he thinks he's really good.

What he thinks of himself who can tell lol.But he is never one to shy from self aggrandising that’s for sure😎 The sets are enjoyable though, well apart from Fleet Street Transparency(and thats only because i just hated the ending of it) I love David Warner too but now he is cropping up in everything even the recent Companion chronicles. There are thousand of other actors out there just as talented.Hungry destitute in need of a BF lunch.😉

Been bouncing around lately. I got one of those 99-cent cheap audiobook versions of The Call of Cthulu, and I actually really enjoyed it, despite the bare-bones nature. I've got a lot of stuff sitting on Audible and Google Play waiting to be listened to (I'm so bad at choosing from a backlog!), including the most recent Welcome to Night Vale book on audio, H.P. Lovecraft's The Shadow over Insmouth, and other random stuff. I'm thinking of starting some podcasts I've heard good things about but never gotten into yet: SAYER, King Falls AM, and some others.

I just started Passenger List, which (so far) is an outstanding new podcast drama from Radiotopia. New episodes every Monday (episode 3 just released this week), Atlantic Airlines flight 702 has disappeared mid-flight between London and New York with 256 passengers on board. Kaitlin Le, a college student whose twin brother vanished with the flight, is determined to uncover the truth.
Created, co-written, and co-directed by Peabody Award-winner John Scott Dryden (Tumanbay; LifeAfter). Co-written and co-directed by Lauren Shippen (The Bright Sessions). Editing, sound design and music by Mark Henry Phillips (Homecoming; Serial). Vietnamese transcription and translation provided by Khanh Aiden Nguyen.
Starring
KELLY MARIE TRAN (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) COLIN MORGAN (The Fall) ROB BENEDICT (Supernatural)
PATTI LUPONE (Les Misérables; Sweeney Todd)

I'm about to start this one. I had heard a previous Radiotopia podcast, The Polybius Conspiracy, which was really good. Currently continuing the classic BBC radio adaptations of Sherlock Holmes with The 5 Orange Pips.

As I'm not ready for Ravenous (😳), Doom Coalition (😳😳) or even Dark Eyes (😳😳😳) just yet (the small matter of the cost of four boxsets in a bundle, not to mention the #octombaker sale on series 6 of the Fourth Doctor Adventures might have slowed my expectations down a tad..) my free time today has been given over to the Audible backlog, and currently Matt Haig reading from his book - Notes On A Nervous Planet.

Went to thrift store, found a collection of Basil Rathbone's Sherlock Holmes radio episodes on CD. He was an excellent Holmes And almost made up for the destruction of Conan Doyle's authentic Watson in the movies. (That's Watson the intelligent medical doctor and experienced old soldier, not Watson the bumbling idiot, in case we don't know because we'd never guess it from those films. )
