July, August and September are now chosen. Any guesses? I am always game for a guessing game! July The Big release (at least to my mind) is Classic Doctor : New Monsters. But how could you link into that? Well Big Finish have introduced newer Doctor's foes to older Doctors long before the New Series licence. THE SELACHIAN GAMBIT (having first appeared on audio opposite the Seventh Doctor in The Architects of History) August Hamlet with Alexander Vlahos must be worthy of promotion, so how about THE DARKEST SHADOW with Alexander Vlahos (If the new Dark Shadows release - Love Lives On had been scheduled for release a month later I would consider this a certainty) September It's more New Adventures with Benny and David Warner So how about an old adventure with Benny and David Warner THE ADVENTURE OF THE DIOGENES DAMSEL Well those are my guesses. Now only time will tell... Darkest Shadow only had a couple of minutes of Alex Vlahos at most, so it's not something I'm expecting. Diogenes Damsel is CD only at this point, so unless there's a development with the contracts regarding download rights, it won't be this. If Sympathy for the Devil hasn't been done yet, could be that. If Sympathy has been done, then Masters of War. I know I picked up Sympathy in the recent David Tennant sale, and Masters in the Davros themed sale to tie into The Witch's Familiar a couple of years ago, but can't remember if either have been a Listeners title before.

Darn I'd guessed they'd keep that for when Aliens Among Us comes out. Thinking cap back on

Brilliant! I've been waiting for this specific title to turn up in a sale for a while now. Anneke Wills is one of the very best at these part-narrated stories where she plays multiple characters, and a pure historical is always very welcome. (If any member likes the historicals and has not yet heard her performance of the audiobook of 'The Highlanders', I highly recommend it.)

So is this basically a dramatization of the novel?

Good choice. Definitely worth picking up, if you don't already own it.

Company Of Friends was great, I knew nothing about the four companions when I first listened to it, but they are all very well written and easy to follow characters (though having now read most of the EDA's I'd argue Fitz was pretty much writer proof anyway, he leaps of the page straight away as a very different sort of companion and it was interesting to hear how McGann plays off a male lead), the four stories have a nice balance of tones and it was interesting to get a brief glimpse at the other areas of the 8th Doctor's timeline.
Volume 2 please BF!

October's release is sorted now. The cover of it gives me the heeby-jeebies!

DS The Happier Dead
(because it stars Murray Melvin as he's back in TW, there's new DS out this month, and its a creepy cover.)

I'm thinking The Death Mask, as that was the first Tony and Cassandra audio. An Earthly Child for All Hands on Deck maybe.

Not the Happier Dead, eh? That was a good guess. Let's see... on the Tony & Cassandra cover, Cassandra reminds me a bit of the way she looks on the cover of the second Tony & Cassandra story, The Voodoo Amulet, which I personally think is probably the creepiest cover on a Tony & Cassandra mystery (and like the freshly-revealed cover for Static, is an artwork that can be very striking even without a lot of color). Hmmm...
If not a Tony & Cassandra story, I think I'd say Carriage of the Damned could be another of the creepiest Dark Shadows covers. It would be kind of surprising if the pick for The Listeners weren't a DS story with T&C, but then again the new Tony & Cassandra box set has illustrious DS author Alan Flanagan returning (yay!), along with veteran Dark Shadows actor Greg Patmore (Carriage of the Damned, and The Devil Cat - which happens to feature the second creepiest Tony & Cassandra cover, IMHO).
Also there are two DS alumni in the upcoming Blake's 7 - (Walles Hammond and Daniel Collard) - and I hope that gets a tie-in to the new Dark Shadows. How else do you get in an extra blip for Blake's 7 just because Halloween is coming? :-)

Either Carrage of the Damned or The Devil Cat would be fine....I have neither of those.
