It appears that several Big Finish plays have shown up on Spotify including parts of the first 50, The Lost Stories Season 1, The New EDAs Season 1, UNIT: Dominion, FDAs Season 1, and the first two series of Dalek Empire. Can anyone at Big Finish confirm this is legit and not a hoax?

Can anyone at Big Finish confirm this is legit and not a hoax? I'm pretty sure someone on here did ask them and got a confirmation it was correct. Or maybe that was Gallifrey Base. It's a very similar range to that on Audible, so looks very legit.

I also can't help but be slightly miffed about it considering I just bought the entirety of Iris in the Worlds of Big Finish sale a few months back and they put everything up to series 4 on Spotify. I guess that's how people who buy right before a weekend sale feel though...

I'm not miffed. I like giving Big Finish my business.

Is Streaming an awfully convenient method of listening to drama? If you have a spotify subscription you can download the titles.

Is Streaming an awfully convenient method of listening to drama? You can download on Napster/Rhapsody too, so... yeah. The biggest issue for Napster/Rhapsody is just how difficult they make it to find audio books/drama, but once you've found them, listening is perfectly easy.

Is Streaming an awfully convenient method of listening to drama? Yeah, its fine. No different to streaming any kind of audio entertainment really.

It's been discussed on this forum before, here and there, but I don't think there's a specific thread for it. The closest we got to a specific discussion about BF on Spotify was a thread about the availability of Big Finish on various providers of streaming content. In any case, this thread should go in the General Big Finish Discussion, since it's not specifically about Doctor Who. I'm going to move it over there.

So after learning that Big finish is on spotify I decided to get premium free for a month. Of course i might extend my subscription as its a great way of catching up on the big finish ive never had a chance too before now, but if i do keep it for one month only what are the ‘must listen to’s’ from the selection on spotify?

Just theres 101 hours of content there and i was wondering if theres any that aren’t the best that i can skip.

The Holy Terror, The Chimes of Midnight and Jubilee are some of my favourites from the first fifty (all written by the same writer actually now that I think of it). The Chimes of Midnight is part of the 8/Charley arc which I'd recommend listening to entirely, but if you don't want to listen to all of them I'd also listen to at least Storm Warning, Neverland and Zagreus since they're the ones that are central to the ongoing plot, the others are mostly standalone.

I don't know what BF is on Spotify but all of the Doctor Who Main Range 1-50 releases are worth a listen... with a bit of dedication you could probably even get through them in your 'Free' month. 101 hours of listening in a month is nothing... unless you have a life of course! I never usually advise skipping things, even stories I am not that fond of, as there was something for everyone in those first fifty releases so you could end up skipping something by general consensus and end up missing out on a story that you would love. Try them all, if the first episode of a story isn't working for you you'll have a general idea whether to carry on or not.
