What would be a non fantasy/sci-fi TV show that you think could make the jump to audio? Maybe a sweeping historical epic, a working class sitcom or even some sort of crime series.

My go-to answer is always Sexton Blake. When described as a poor man's Sherlock Holmes, people are thinking of his early, derivative depictions. He ended up action packed, globe trotting and badass. Think Holmes meets TinTin meets Indiana Jones.

The first thing that popped into my head is The Last Detective. Given Big Finish's relationship with Peter Davison I could envision this coming together nicely.

That was alright, but I would much prefer more Campion. Me too. Davison got to stretch his range a lot further with Campion. I liked The Last Detective a lot, but Five on audio already seems to have morphed into Dangerous Davies a bit. More grumpy and irascible. Campion is such a different best.

I'm sure there's scope for BF to consider the later Campion novels. Or what about the current series Mike Ripley is writing?

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

There's a little-known Australian show called The Fast Lane which aired in the '80s. It was about two very incompetent detectives (only one of whom was aware that they were no good) who solved cases largely by being removed from them by the police or by having their receptionist do the work for them. It was written by John Clarke (who Australians will know from multiple things but international people may know from the faux-documentary about the 2000 Olympics, The Games)and Andrew Knight and was in turns farcical, satirical and quite black. I've managed to find a few episodes on YouTube (it has aged really well, IMNSHO), but apparently the original tapes were wiped a few years later for some reason. I imagine the scripts would still be in existence which would make them perfect for Big Finish a la The Avengers.

The Untouchables could be pretty neat if correctly cast.

Picking up where American crime shows left off could be fun. Imagine a second series of Forever or a good version of Alcatraz.

I'd say go after some of the cop shows that spent time as radio serials before tv took over. Or some of the old pulp magazine characters. The Spider would be an interesting property for BF to play with.

Got to be something with a huge following. Blackadder is an obvious one but BF and comedy is tricky.
Prisoner Cell Block H?
Robin Hood... oh hang on.

'Z Cars' The 'Doctor Who' of BBC police shows. Weekly in BBC1 primetime, ran for years through the 60s and 70s, huge audiences and just about everyone appeared in it. And presses the BF 'nostalgia' button perfectly. This is how popular it was: If you remember the 60s and 70s in the UK, you can still hum the theme tune - go on!

How about an new audio series for Miss Fisher?
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries It is an Australian drama about a 1920s lady detective.
The main star, Essie Davis has relocated to London so a fourth series is unlikely despite having good viewing figures and a bit of a cult following. The fact that she is in the U.K. and the last story (yes I am a fan) ended with her flying off (if memory serves) to England could set an audio series up nicely.
However the rights might be a problem as there has been rumour of a film (but isn't there always!)

I think Danger Man would fit right in BF's wheelhouse, and they've already got a suitable McGoohan replacement with Elstob on the books.

Obviously more Avengers would be ideal. The Saint would also slot in nicely. I continue to say a BF version of Tarzan is a concept tailor made for audio.
