More news about 50th Anniversary and Volume 2 is being moved back to August 2017. Not sure if this indicates another release to come for the 50th Cheers Tony

So...to celebrate the 50th anniversary Volume 2 is being pushed back 8 months?! (In fact, it will be released on the last business day of September, so 8 months is probably rounding down.)
This feels more like covering for Nick Briggs still working on the scripts. Actually, they all but admit it seeing as they have a whole paragraph talking about how Nick is so excited to be working on them at the moment, and box sets usually come out at least 6 months after recording.
<Grumble.>
After reading the title of the article I went in thinking that we would be getting 2 volumes in 2017 to celebrate. I guess not. Can you tell I'm not pleased about this?

not surprised with the amount of work nick is putting on himself.....when the monthly updates stopped you know there were struggling to keep on schedule.
but this news story feels like a white lie to cover for the fact that its nowhere near finished with 3 months to go!
the anniversary has hardly popped up out of know where.
I hate it when they put media & marketing spin on this stuff, it's not as if we are not all adults and can't see through it, even making it ambiguous to look like there is another release to be announced.
not really a problem with the release date move, but the fake positive spin & lies now that is. you are better than that BF. tell the truth & leave the lies to the polticians!
also anyone else notice how often they tell us that vol 1 has been a critical hit.......I am starting to think that may not have been a commercial one.

Nick does spread himself very thin and when you do that something is going to suffer. It's certainly not the first time this has happened (and not just with Nick's ranges), look at Darkshadows: Bloodline that was slated for release Autumn 2016 - it isn't even up for pre-order yet. I can only hope that the delay allows him to produce another stunning box, rather than rushing and putting out a mediocre box. Cheers Tony

At least Dark Shadows got a release this year. (Actually, it got two and is getting a third.) What about Charley Pollard or The Omega Factor?
Sigh... Big Finish...we love you but you can be so frustrating sometimes...

Hold on...August, not September? The article begins by talking about The Prisoner beginning on the 29th of September but later talks about the release of Volume 2 (and the anniversary) as being in August. Which is it? (August apparently according to Big Finish's What's New section). www.bigfinish.com/whats_new/month/08/2017

That was a pretty odd news piece, framing the delay as good news.

If this is how Big Finish thinks after half a glass I don't want to see them after they drink the other half, not to mention the rest of the bottle...

But note how they have neglected to put the good news on the What's New page Latest Updates section?

Genuinely sorry to add to the voices of discontent here, but this news has left me a little annoyed. If Nick Briggs is too busy, or has lost interest in this project, can't he allow some other writers to write for the second set, like was the case with 'Dark Eyes' and 'The War Doctor?' After such a blaze of BF publicity, expecting the audience to wait 18 months for a follow up to 'series 1' is a big ask. I suppose people have pre-ordered this (as I have), and so BF feel they can afford not to stick to the original release date.

I dislike the Prisoner but there's no way Nick Briggs has lost interest in the project!
Most likely he wants to do a different Number 2 for every episode again and the actors he wants aren't available to record till early next year.
