Work has started on Volume 2, according to Scott Handcock and Nick Briggs on Twitter.

Boo to the packaging not being the same as volume one.

Boo to the packaging not being the same as volume one. I would part company with you on that one. The packaging for volume one was needlessly overdone and expensive. Speaking as a Prisoner obsessive of 40 years, the cost associated with the "deluxe" packaging was almost enough to put off buying the thing. I am glad BF got the message and course corrected for volume 2.

On the fence about this one. I just don't want reimagined stories. Nick should have the courage of his convictions and write new ones, as difficult as that might be. The original one was the best received on the first box set. It just feels like BF are hiding behind the writing of the original series. Everything else is perfect. Just don't see much point repeating the stories.

Just don't see much point repeating the stories. I agree. The original story he wrote, the soundscape and the acting of Elstob meant it could quite easily have appeared in the TV series and because of that I'd definitely be up for more original "Tales from the Prisoner". I think everyone has proved it can be done, the range now needs to follow the route Survivors has. The only issue I can see with all original stories is Nick's workload, the length of time it will take to write and release them. Cheers Tony

Yeah. 'Hiding behind' is too strong. I should have said taking the easier option.

Well, they're hardly going to only do 17 episodes now, are they?

I think the reimagined episodes are excellent, so im sticking up for BF version of The Prisoner.
It was totally panned prior to release (and it amazes me how when no one had heard it) but was well received when it came out.
Sign me up for vol 2.

Agree with this, and acousticwolf's sentiments about the length of time it takes to get the sets released. Who knows, if Prisoner 2 had been available from the b eginning of the year as planned, we might have some news about a possible series 3 by now. Ah well.

Information!A nice lengthy trailer and news about this new set. It sounds every bit as arch and interesting as the first, and I'm looking forward to it. Interesting, and in-keeping with the eccentric nature of this series, 2 stories are adaptions of television stories, but with different titles. The third is an adaption of a story with the same title, and the fourth (unless it's a misprint) is not adapted from the TV show of the same title. Very odd, but I like this re-imagining of the series. I just hope it continues longer than two box-sets.

If you are going to reimagine stories, then have them but agree on the naming strategy. First set reused the titles so this set should do so as well. If there is a decision to differentiate them then fine. But be consistent. You can't have two reimaginings with different titles and a third with the same title. And as for the one original piece of writing reusing an old title, well that's just bonkers given the fact there are remakes already in the two sets. It feels like no one is challenging the decision makers here. I truly hope this is brilliant but it just feels like a wasted opportunity.

Am I the only one puzzled by the choice of Hammer and Anvil? It's not very good, to put it charitably. The one thing that improves it is if you pretend that Number 6 has cracked and now works for the Village, weeding out incompetents. Nothing in the episode explicitly contradicts this, after all.

Weeell, I have no knowledge of the television show but I can imagine how this might rankle some. I quite like this curious way of going about things. Just as in The Village, rules are only there to be broken. This appears to be a complete re-imagining of the show, and I like the decision that has been made here. Odd definitely, but not necessarily stupid. A very personal vision of what audio Prisoner should be - I like that, and really hope this isn't the last we hear of it.

I genuinely have no problem with the naming convention (or lack of one).
An incredibly minor thing to have any issue with.
I don't even think it odd, never mind 'utterly stupid'.
I'd say no one challenged it as it simply wasn't worth challenging.

I'd say wait and see....have a listen first before rolling out the criticism.
