I'm quite tempted by the 'Prisoner' range, but the price puts me off. At £35 to download volume 1 it is just too expensive. I know it was discounted by 20% in the Big Finish Summer Listening offers, but it was still too expensive at £28! Assume they'll only properly reduce the price once they sell out of CD's otherwise no one, apart from devoted fans, would pay £40 for a CD if the download was just £20. The irony is that £20 for volume 2 is fine, but I don't want to miss out what precedes it. That's the clincher isn't it? If you love Volume 2, would that tempt you to buy Volume 1? I agree with mbt66, that a standard set should have been made for Volume 1, with maybe the special package as a limited edition. I say this as someone who always buys downloads, and I must say, I was very pleased with all the extras - including a full musical suite for each episode - and the adaptions themselves. Perhaps once the second set is on sale, they'll put Volume 1 on sale. Who knows?

Despite the lower price, the scripts, full music score and additional interviews are available as before (albeit download only).
It's a shame I'm pointing that out due to it being unusual. Scripts and music scores already exist, so they just need to be made available. Unfortunately, scripts almost never happen outside the main range, and music scores only on 2-disc stories.
(Is it up to the producer for each range?)

I've been intrigued by the free samples of volume 2 at the end of recent podcasts, whereas I wasn't interested at all in volume 1 and took a pass on it.
I was a big fan of the TV show.
Now I'm wondering can I listen to volume 2 if I skipped volume 1? Or is volume 1 needed for background?
