Anyone know where I can find cover images for the individual stories online. I need the for itunes. Can't download them from Big Finish site because I was given it as a present for my Birthday. I don't think there was any individual cover art and if there was I couldn't find them. Well all the individual discs have their own covers. If I could find some online it would save me the trouble of scanning the covers which is such a cumbersome process.

Ooh, lovely more Norton. You can never have too much Norton. Though I'm still not sure what all he's about (besides what he does in this story). I suspect he has lots of skeletons in his closet. Just finished listening to the story tonight, Torchwood tapes yet to come, and I think I'll re-listen to the whole thing before I comment further.

I've only listened to the first part so far but I can't be the only one who had this uncontrollable need to itch & scratch after listening to this My back still itches.

Very enjoyable. Honestly love our ghostly friend. If Scott sees this, he should suggest that the extras across all ranges be done like this - it was one of the more interesting extras that we've seen in a long time. I think it's personal preference. I always try to record roundtable discussions to keep the interaction up, and edited Torchwood Tapes myself because I wanted that same energy... but it does eat up a lot of additional time, so who knows? Enjoyed the extras very much.

thoughts, half a year later:
I still love it, but it deserves another episode or two.
I would have split up the second episode into two, and given the 1950s flashback a fleshing out.
And then I would have extended the ending to expand on what Jack did to tie everything up into a neat bow.
Overall, I love it. As BF's proof of concept for full-cast Torchwood boxed sets go, it's bloody fantastic.

I bought this in the recent Torchwood sale and, really, it is a lot more fun than a story about a population-decimating virus has any right to be. Writers Guy Adams, Emma Reeves & AK Benedict, - what a team. Governments trying to outmaneuver their own corruption, some convincing scenes of troubling public panic and disorder, some lovely character moments between the characters ... it's all here.
I read somewhere that John Barrowman is not a very convincing audio actor - I don't think it was here - well, his performance here should convince otherwise. He's on fire (pun intended, or not)! Everyone is on great form (no-one says "bo*****s" like Eve Myles). Brilliance also from Marilyn Le Conte as the wonderful Frances Godalming.
I'm not sure BF have produced a bad Torchwood audio yet. Some I've enjoyed more than others admittedly, but they've all been entertaining - and pertinent. I love the way the 'public' - panic and scared though they are - are reduced to the chanting pack mentality gestalt they would be in such situations. Such behaviour is echoed on my Facebook pages this very day with people registering their disapproval of the possibility that tonight's Britain's Got Talent might be delayed because of news coverage concerning recent events in Syria. Plus รงa change, and all that.

I think those comments are geared more towards the early releases, when the range was still finding its feet. The BBC Radio plays are... not up to Big Finish's standards, shall we say (though I still quite enjoyed all of them) and John (and everyone else on the cast, for that matter) come off a bit stilted. The early BF Torchwoods also don't quite know what format they want to be yet, so that first one with Captain Jack (The Conspiracy) comes off very... audiobook with some full cast bits. By the time you get to Uncanny Valley or The Victorian Age, the range is in full swing.

Possibly the reason I never really noticed is because I approached the early BF Torchwood releases the same way I approach life - out of order! Also, I never heard the BBC radio plays. Certainly by Outbreak, John Barrowman is giving it at least 110%

Each topic should have a link where you can find them on audible or some such. Anyway, back on topic, yes, Outbreak is bloody brilliant, everyone's firing on all cylinders, and if they keep up the quality for Believe I'll be over the moon :3

I quite enjoyed that one! Only just poking my toe into the whole Torchwood affair.
Decided on Outbreak because: - it is a stand-alone story - about evil scientists - battling an alien virus - gruesome deaths
- with horror undertones
- and some emotional personal drama between the Torchwood team.
I just was in one of these moods for exactly that constellation.
It is indeed quite visceral with the blood and gore, and the violence can be quite graphic.
But I got the impression they at least scaled down on the swearing a bit. It also got quite emotional and dramatic when some of the heroes get infected, and even someone like me who is not invested in the characters found it gripping. Captain Jack is neither annoying nor morose, which is very welcome. In fact, John Barrowman's performance was great. {Spoiler} I do love a good out of character story where the apparent heroes turn into murderous psychopaths
And while the situation in Cardiff surely is apocalyptic, I felt it was not bleak or depressing.
Very enjoyable adventure, even for Torchwood novices.
Just the resolution is a bit of a let-down.
