The last episode kind of reminds me of the final Sarah Jane Smith story, Dreamland.

Just finished Square One by "the award-winning" John Dorney. He offers the most reasonable explanation of recent UK / US politics I've heard so far, and makes it more entertaining than any old analysis could ever be. If this story came on an edible chocolate-flavored CD it would make the perfect Christmas gift.

Am I the only one who thinks Matt Fitton sounds a lot like Robert Shearman?

I thought it was strange that Big Finish released UNIT Series 3 as a 20 minute political commentary, but I appreciated the "get out and vote" urgency of the story. Not sure why it came on four discs, though. Seems like a waste of packaging.
I did, apparently, make some notes to myself about it. Evidently I really enjoyed the way each episode ramped up the tension and I found that Big Finish did a good job of making the antagonist a real puzzle for UNIT to solve. There was some very entertaining humor that grew naturally out of the situation, but the writers didn't let it overwhelm the primary threat or the tension of the story.
I guess I was really excited when I was listening to this, more so than I remember. Not a surprise, though, as UNIT has become a real favorite for me in the Big Finish catalog.

Kenneth LeBlanc...an English politician from a party which despite having hardly any elected officials received a massive amount of media attention. He's someone who stirs up hate from the fringes and has a smug, annoying smile. He's also got a french sounding name despite being a little Englander. Nope...not ringing any real-life bells.

Finished the set earlier this morning. Loved Kate at the end saying UNIT has a history of recruiting journalists.
This was not just a really strong UNIT adventure but an excellent sequel to Impossible Astronsaut/Day Of The Moon. I didn't expect it to be a result of The Doctor's actions in that story. Very cool. I'm really digging UNIT as a series of action-adventures. It's got espionage, science fiction, comedy and some wonderful leads. La Redgrave is just a class act. Like I said on another thread a couple of days ago it amazes me that BF get names of her caliber and not just for a one-off but as regulars. BF have got casts most TV shows would kill for.

Just finished it on the weekend. It was very well done, though frustrating that UNIT kept pushing the rock up the hill only to see it roll back down at the end of the episode. I am glad that it was a sequel to Impossible Astronaut/Day Of The Moon and fully explored the consequences of the Doctor's actions there. Nice performances by all of the cast. I am looking forward to where they go next.

If this story came on an edible chocolate-flavored CD it would make the perfect Christmas gift. Bit late on the draw, here. Just started the set last week & finished it today. Almost hard to enjoy, what with how thick the political commentary/satire was--I agreed thoroughly, but it was perhaps a mite depressing (not a bad thing, just not sure when they were writing this that they knew it's be listened to during the week of Trump's inauguration...). Fantastic writing & acting, though. I didn't pick up 1-2, but I'll be picking up 4, and possibly beyond. One more thing... I Want Klein! Thank you...

I agree with the disclaimer on the product page stating this to be one of the strongest boxsets. It had me glued from beginning till end.

I agree with the disclaimer on the product page stating this to be one of the strongest boxsets. It had me glued from beginning till end. (This is meant as true honesty, not the pointless 'joke') From what stuck with me it was pretty good, but I was falling asleep while listening to most of it and I GENUINELY don't really remember all that much about it. Must give it a re-listen at some point... when I've caught up on my still sizeable backlog...

Finished this boxset earlier in the week. Very clever use of the Silence in an audio format, and I liked the callbacks to the TV episodes in which they appeared. Very good stories overall.
