Hey everyone,
Do you think Chris Pratt is? As much as I loved him as Andy in Parks and Recreation, but for me, in his action hero roles, he doesn't quite have the presence.

I think it does depend on the film and the role he's been given.
In Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, those were essentially ensemble pieces, just with him closer to the top of the pecking order. Now with Passengers, its gonna be mostly him and J-Law, so thats the biggest test for him in that sense

he is ok.... for me it's his name that hampers his appeal here in the UK. Try and be as adult as you like, the words Pratt on a poster still turns me into the inner staggering 10 year old.

Average Joe style Leading Man nothing wrong with it nothing outstandingly great either.
Admittedly Guardians is the weakest Marvel film I've seen so far but I don't know if I could put it solely down to him.

It kind of reminded me most of the cheap early 90s Flash and Captain America films, its heart was in the right place but something was off.

These question threads are certainly getting odder.

I think so. I had the good fortune to meet him about ten years ago, when he was starring in a TV show called Everwood. My wife was a big fan, so we decided to make the trip.
I remember observing that he had the kind of natural charisma that either you have or you don't, and that he would probably be going on to bigger things.
In fact, I believe I turned to my wife and said "Mark my words, honey. By 2014, he'll be starring with Zoe Saldana and a talking raccoon in a big screen adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy!"
Or words to that effect. I don't remember the specific language I used. The memory cheats.
The person in Dr. Who fandom of whom he reminds me most closely is Sophie Aldred. They both have what I believe to be genuine enthusiasm for their projects, and they carry that through with their performances.

Chris Pratt us definitely a leading man. He is basically the new Harrison Ford. In fact, Jurassic World was basically like an extended audition reel for Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones (let's face it, it has to happen one day).

My favorite Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. And I would not put that all down to him either. It is really a combination of the ensemble, the visuals and James Gunn. I adore that movie. And to answer the question, I don't know yet but Hollywood sure seems to think he is.
