Anyone else feel like calling their mum after it? Unfortunately, I can't do that any more, but it did bring back a flood of memories. I do remember visiting my mother in the hospital for her hip replacement not that long ago. It was lots of fun and made me think the elevator pitch was "Rhys doing Die Hard in a Hospital with his mother." Since this was the first in the new series, I am guessing that we may learn more about this future body snatchers (or who is behind them) in later releases. One thing about it - if I didn't misunderstand part of the conclusion. It seems that perhaps the snatchers may have been using bodies that their records indicated that they were about to die. And so the deaths would have "no impact". The nurse apologized to Rhys at the end saying that they accidentally reported his mother as having died.

Oh, I want Brenda to get caught up in further Torchwood shennigans with Gwen-in tow. Just imagine all the passive-aggressive banter between them and poor Rhys caught in the middle
Brenda: Now, put down the gun, Gween, luv. They might be friendly, like ET!
Brenda: Now, that's no good, Gwen, dear. Shouting and shooting - where is that going to get you? Now, I deal with difficult clients all day, you catch more flies with honey.

Love this release. It was paced extremely well, with plenty of creepiness and the humor worked extremely well. The chemistry between our two leads is so effortless and natural. I hope we'll be hearing more from Brenda, perhaps exploring Brenda and Gwen's relationship as others have suggested. And I'll be looking forward to the next release that focuses on Rhys. The everyman approach to Torchwood resonates with me a great deal.

Just listened to this story while waiting for new tires to be put on car. Very enjoyable. Rhys was great

Listening to this again as part of my relisten through Aliens Among Us, slotted between Changes Everything and Chips & Gravy. It's interesting to re-examine the implications of what's going on in the background given the suggestion that this takes place during Series 5.

So funny story my Aunt is a huge fan of Torchwood and happened to be seeing a show Kai was performing in yesterday. So I rather cheekily gave her the cover for this in the daft hope she's bump into him. She waited by the stage door after it finished for me! Apparently he was absolutely lovely and chuffed to be asked to sign it! 😁
Relistening to it as we speak and I completely forgot how much of a spooky little gem it is! I'd happily have another solo Rhys story in the next group of monthly releases!
