Probably the darkest thing I have ever listened to. Part of me wants to go back and give it a relisten but the other part just wants to take a bath.

Hands down one of the very best Torchwood audio releases so far from Big Finish, even if I'm a touch iffy on the actual ending. Reminded me of Countrycide in its ability to go to some very dark sides of the human condition, and the monstrous acts that people are not only capable of, but that they feel no guilt or shame over committing, and experiencing that horror through the eyes of the characters we know so well, forcing them to also confront and feelings and reactions they would normally try to keep buried. It also reminded me of just how much I missed Burn Gorman as Owen, something I wasn't particularly aware of until he actually came back in this one, and absolutely knocked it out of the park. Hope to hear many more with him in the coming years.
The only negative I could give is that to me the weevil didn't really sound distinctively like a weevil, and sounded a bit generic to my ears.

I've been looking forward to how Big Finish would portray Owen and this release did not let me down. It's disturbing as all get out, but really well done and I hope we'll hear more from Owen in the future.
Also, Andy must really, really, really want to be in Torchwood if this experience didn't put him off of the idea forever.

Listened to this on my commute to work today. Really excellent and very creepy story.
Owen came off better than usual in this story. And, contrary to the teaser on the release page, he really didn't sound as though he didn't care.
Loved the interaction between Owen and PC Andy. Both the actors did a great job with this release.

I've no idea if it was intentional but the circumstances Owen finds himself in here are almost exactly the same one Burn's character in Game Of Thrones finds himself. And the father in Game Of Thrones was played by Robert Pugh who was in Torchwood's Season 2 ep Adrift. A small world, indeed.

I was two months late listening to this because I really didn't want to make my only Big Finish audio with Burn Gorman a thing that I couldn't look forward to anymore, but being a series the releases were piling up and I thought it was time to move ahead. What an amazing story and performance, and I thought having Andy along worked out just brilliantly. This story was chock full of the unexpected (starting with I'd just recently convinced myself that everyone must have forgotten the obligatory Torchwood Weevils) and my ears were almost literally glued to my headphones, I couldn't have paused the story for being so curious what would happen next and for it being so good to hear Owen back and earning the spotlight. We most definitely need more stories with Owen!!

I have to say I enjoyed Owen in this more than I thought I would.

Oh my goodness! Well I loved the Owen/Andy combo, and there was a lot that I admired about the audio. But I never, ever want to listen to that again! So grim! But utterly compelling.

Jesus. Christ. I'd heard this one was dark, but I didn't realise it was that dark. The atmosphere created by the script, acting from all the cast, and the music and sound design made this possibly the most uncomfortable-to-listen-to Big Finish story I've heard. And yet somehow it's also one of my favourites. Every time I listen to one of the Torchwood monthlies, I think "surely there's got to be one in here that's slightly worse than the others", but yet again, James Goss has shown that this range is Big Finish's strongest.
Andy and Owen as a team is so much fun, and I can't wait to listen to the rest of their stories together.
Seriously though, this one's going to give me trouble sleeping. 9/10.
