So, there's the surprise gone. {Spoiler} My own fault for reading this thread at all, I suppose. {Spoiler} But that's the last time I read any product thread before release. Ignorance is cool...

What surprise? You don't mean Hex do you? He's not a surprise! He's been announced and is on the cover! Is there something else I've missed?

Yes, I did mean Hex and I didn't know. It takes some doing, but I try to learn as little as possible about releases to which I'm already subbed. Including not looking too closely at artwork. When it comes to audios, ignorance is difficult, but bliss! (Like I said, I should not have been reading the thread at all. An accidental click in the 'Participated' list was all it took..)

I can remember last year someone calling spoilers over Magnus Greel being in The Butcher of Brisbane. Putting aside that it had been at least three years since the story was released (statute of limitations can be short for audio), Magnus Greel was one of the biggest marketing hooks for the story. The ad for the trilogy in DWM even had his name!

My heart skips a beat every time I go to this release and see Hex on the cover. I just can't wait for this story. Every time I look at that cover I still can't quite believe it. Great character, and it's be very good to be getting him back. I don't think I remember ever seeing one but I'll hope for a Hex sale to commemorate the release anyway for anyone who needs any catching up.

Ahhh...but you have now raised my level of expectation by telling me this. Now I'm concerned that it will never live up to my newly heightened level of expectation!

In that case... don't bother... just skip this one... I mean... hex is dead... or living in Liverpool. .. nah...
Is that better?

I'd place this between Forty-Five and The Magic Mousetrap in terms of continuity. There's no reference to the TARDIS being white, not is Hex angsting about the Doctor's manipulative streak. Ace is pretty carefree, so definitely before the whole Elder Gods thing. I am about 20 minutes into Part 1 of World Apart, so there could be some angsting.
