Released January 2017SynopsisTime travelling archaeologist and adventurer River Song returns - and this time she will be stepping into the past life of the Doctor, encountering two of his incarnations at once! From the space exploration vessel Saturnius – which is heading to a destination that never gets any closer - to a doomed planet Earth and beyond, River’s journey will bring her closer to a new foe… and an encounter with both the Sixth and Seventh Doctors. 2.1 The Unknown by Guy Adams A planetary anomaly. A scientific impossibility. A mystery to be solved. Of course, River Song expects to be consulted. She expects her valuable knowledge and experience will help the crew of the Saturnius unlock the strange phenomenon that has appeared in Earth’s solar system. But what River doesn’t expect is a stowaway. An infuriating little man, calling himself the Doctor. 2.2 Five Twenty Nine by John Dorney River has made a terrible discovery. Billions of lives hang in the balance. But if she can save just a few, then it might just help her solve the conundrum of Earth’s destruction. But how can she win when survival becomes a race against time itself? A race against Five Twenty-Nine? 2.3 World Enough and Time by James Goss When it comes to bringing down corrupt and exploitative regimes, there is no-one quite like River. Until she arrives at Golden Futures and discovers that someone else has already taken on her job. Someone with almost as much style and panache as herself. The Doctor is about to get the shock of his lives. 2.4 The Eye of the Storm by Matt Fitton The Great Storm of 1703 approaches. The fate of planet Earth hangs in the balance. The only person who can save it is the Doctor. Or River Song. Or quite possibly another Doctor. Or maybe this whole situation is their fault in the first place. Two Doctors. One River. An infinite number of ways to destroy the world. It’s going to be a bumpy ride… Written By: Guy Adams, John Dorney, James Goss, Matt Fitton Directed By: Ken Bentley CASTAlex Kingston (River Song), Colin Baker (The Doctor), Sylvester McCoy (The Doctor), Anna Maxwell Martin (Maddie Bower), Gemma Saunders (Ellen Byrne), Justin Avoth (Robert Murphy), Salome Haertel (Rachel), Jessie Buckley (Sarah Dean / Speravore Queen), Ann Bell (Lisa Burrows), Robert Pugh (Emmett Burrows), Dan Starkey (Computer / Announcer), Aaron Neil (Steven Godbold / Computer), Sara Powell (The PA), Sam Alexander (Todd the Pod), Barnaby Edwards (Autocorrect), Paul Keating (Isaac George), Robert Hands (Daniel Defoe / Barkeep), Alan Cox (Robert Harley / Speravore / Warder)

Sounds great! Can't wait to hear these three together - having River with 6 and 7 feels more surreal than with 8, who is kind of a NS Doctor

So any guesses as to how the writers are going to get around River interacting with previous Doctors, so they don't recognise her in the future?
I thought that the "psychic wimple" was a work of genius in Doom Coalition, so will this be a variation on that?
Or could they just go with after so many years would the Doctor really remember her face?

The first River Song box set was such a treat, I'm really excited for this collision between the worlds of Classic and New Who!
mbt66 - Yes, I wondered this too. From the trailer it seems she is making no bones about giving her real name to both Old Sixie and Seven so I think some sort of memory / time tinkering will be required to avoid making Tennant's Doctor look too forgetful.

The first River Song box set was such a treat, I'm really excited for this collision between the worlds of Classic and New Who! I love the idea that after a few CDNM, River Song and maybe whatever else might turn up a Classic Doctor may have a season's worth of adventures with New Series elements.

No way I'll have time to listen today, visiting, 2 dinners and then Who on TV. Will make a nice boxing day come down though River getting an early release is becoming an odd little Christmas tradition.

This was great! I enjoyed this a lot more than the first River set, and I liked that one. I thought River with Seven was fantastic! I love that he is intrigued but doesn't trust her. And River with Six was just a little weird. I didn't really like the way Sixie was written. He would never have taken the treatment that he was getting from that PA. He didn't mellow that much. I was expecting more bluster from him. Alex Kingston mentions in the extras that she was much more comfortable recording these than she was doing the last one, and it showed. I think this was her best BF performance so far. Five Twenty-Nine was another great character piece by dorney. It seems you are now the go to writer for these wonderful, emotional stories. And I'm not complaining. A really wonderful and sad story.

I enjoyed the first set, and might get this one eventually, does anyone know how long it is on pre-order price (CD) for?

Do Not stop the Mash up Doctor meet ups!
They add an essential charm.

Actually this is a Big Finish exclusive until end of March so should stay at the lower price until then. Not sure I've ever seen such a long discount period - although War Doctor 1 was probably close.

About to start the last one....
I had intended to space things out. I failed.
Additional thought: Matt Smith needs to get his arse over to BF, expanding movie/TV career or no. Then we can have box sets without disguises or memory wipes.
Edit: I really really enjoyed this one. Not entirely sure about the resolution, but, the vast majority of it was great. Liked it a lot more than the first River set, especially given that the Doctor had more "on screen" time.
