You can hear in Tom's voice he's loving every minute of doing these audio dramas.
I'd love a outtakes disc of the green room conversations with Tom, i bet he's delivered many hilarious anecdotes.

It is early yet but this has my vote for best 4th Doctor release for 2017. And that is with the slightly dodgy American dialects on display. James Goss is one of my favorite Big Finish writers at the moment and this story is a pretty good example of why. It captures the 4th Doctor perfectly, the story moves along at a rapid clip, it is funny & dark all at the same time. Excellent work from all. Thanks.

Someone else said it first on this or the old forum, but I tell you I'd listen to the man read a phone book. That's probably the smallest exaggeration I've uttered. Maybe not even one at all. 50 to 1 odds that he'd have a hilarious anecdote every tenth name, at least.

Then while I'm driving he can start rambling about some random story... Actually, this might not be a practical idea. A Tom Baker GPS system would likely take you to every location except the place you wanted to go. But at least it'd be the best car trip ever!

I would use this and love it despite missing 50% of the turns.

Oh, I loved this. Also, I loved the subtle nods to what was going with the audience reception of Doctor Who at the time, without screaming META!!!. Big Finish are really developing the melachony more naturally here then in the actual television stories - it's very intresting to see where it's going. There's no sense of a rush, leaving them plenty of room to work with in later releases.
It's nice to see Romana opening up to humans, as well, particularly with Loretta (The Doctor really is an overgrown boy) . We didn't really see too much of the softer Romana in season 17 and it's nice to see Big Finish develop her characisation further. Hmmmm, I wonder if it's on the cards that we'll be seeing a new female addition to this TARDIS team?
Loved the fact that the actors egos overcame Julius's.
And I love the image of K9 strolling down Hollywood and not being the oddest thing on sight!

Looking at the reviews on this thread I assume no-one is posting their rating for this story on the**********.com website...

Just a personal thing as a film history buff I am really interested in this era and it would have been fun to see it explored a bit more in this story. In the extras they mentioned Lulu Hammerstein being a woman who owned a studio but of course there was also Mary Pickford who was one of the co-founders of United Artists. Actually women were instrumental in the very early days of film making, but that's for another discussion. Google's logo celebrates Mary Pickford's "125th birthday" today and it reminded me of this thread.

Loved this Great concept some very good dialogue Tom on croaky and righteous anger form, the usual slight drawback though, Romana sounds so bored that it completely robs the cliff-hanger of any tension.

I enjoyed this a great deal. The monsters are a neat idea and it sounded like Baker was having tremendous fun with it all. Romana trying to explain actors to K-9 was a lovely moment, too. Being a film buff, the golden age of cinema elements were captured wonderfully and I thought it was a fantastic period for The Doctor to visit as it felt fresh. Mixing a monster story with a historical is all about finding the right ratio and this story pulled it off perfectly.

This was great! Again, it’s not like Season 18 at all, but it’s lots of fun, it’s witty and the silent era of film is such a great idea for a Doctor Who story. Tom continues to be on fine form and K9 gets lots to do. Lovely!
