I always assumed this story was out of the usual universe and somewhere in the Land Of Fiction tbh since Jago and Litefoot meet his creator and Jags and Litefoot exist in the Doctors universe then all Consuming Fire took place in an alternative universe.well that clears it up in my mind hahaha Doesn't have to be. The true identities of Holmes and Watson that Doyle is protecting could indeed be those of Vastra and Jenny, as it's been suggested before. If Holmes and Watson are actually Jago and Litefoot or Vastra and Jenny, you still have to explain Siger and Mycroft Holmes. Fortunately, you don't need to do that, because it has been established that Holmes and Watson have met Vastra and Jenny
while Litefoot is mentioned in "All-Consuming Fire", so he can't be either of them.

"One of the things you'll learn is that it's all real. Every word of every novel is real, every frame of every movie, every panel of every comic strip."

Now now m’Chaps, we all know as our lords and masters the TARDIS wiki have dictated to us, that the backup comic where the Tenth Doctor is depressed about Rose and adopts a talking cat also called Rose and binge watches a tv show called Chums that definitely isn’t supposed to be Friends, is canon but alas Vienna is definitely not.

I shit you not, tardis wiki once gave me a warning and reverted an edit I'd made to Iris Wildthyme's page, citing the official Iris Wildthyme site for my info. They told me I was adding incorrect info to the wiki locked me out of making edits for a week. Pretty sure their list of Iris incarnations is still incorrect.

As Osgood aka The Monk aka whatever name you know him by has said, the TARDIS wiki is nowhere near a good source for canon as it doesn't count Vienna as canon even though Vienna appeared in a Who audio as well as the Slithergees appearing in a Vienna audio.

And Vienna debuted in a Seventh Doctor story. Unless a story in the Vienna range directly contradicts a story featuring a Doctor there's no reason they can't co-exist yet not interact. It's a huge multiverse, and Benny has had over twenty years worth of stories that never affect the Doctor (her solo books began in 1997). Jago & Litefoot had 13 seasons plus more than a few specials, with the Doctor present for only a fraction of them. Out of the Counter-Measures material (six box sets, one special release and a disc of the Worlds of Doctor Who) the Doctor only showed up when they guest starred in a Main Range story. Gallifrey has never featured the Doctor outside of the Worlds of Doctor Who story. All of these are considered canon. It's clearly an editor who doesn't like Vienna.

No no no no, it’s clearly not canon, the discussion is final, because apparently there’s evidence everyone at BF says it not canon so we must bow to our almighty knowledgeable wiki overlords TARDIS Wiki be praised

No no no no, it’s clearly not canon, the discussion is final, because apparently there’s evidence everyone at BF says it not canon so we must bow to our almighty knowledgeable wiki overlords TARDIS Wiki be praised In the Memory Box the Slithergee appear, being passive aggressive like how they were portrayed in Flip-Flop. The same story (The Memory Box) also references Prince Kylo and Princess Aliona, who appeared in the Drashani trilogy, the final story was Vienna's debut.
Vienna has also interacted with Bernice Summerfield in The Worlds of Big Finish release with no world hopping involved.
The reasoning for the TARDIS wiki not recognising Vienna as part of the DWU is one comment made on a podcast that one user used repeatedly, refusing to think otherwise. There is no other indication anywhere else that the Vienna spin-off exists independently of DWU. The TARDIS Wiki even records the 2010 K9 spin-off made in Australia, where the Doctor Who elements start and end with K9 (who's rights are owned by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, not the BBC) and images of Sea-Devils in the background of one episode.

At least they finally backed down over Faction Paradox. I genuinely don't get their motivations for wanting some non-BBC spin-offs and refusing to let other ones in. Why is Vienna "not in the Doctor Who universe" but Zygon: When Being You Isn't Enough is?

Why is Vienna "not in the Doctor Who universe" but Zygon: When Being You Isn't Enough is? Literally some ridiculous reason like someone from BF mentioned that it’s a different universe to the Doctor’s, which was when they were saying that it’s not a Doctor Who Spin off, and were clearly trying to say that it’s a Series in its own right and doesn’t rely on any of the Doctor’s lore to exist, but the admin on the wiki are so up themselves and set in their own way that they refuse to count Vienna as canonical, but are happy to let a Zygon porno in.

"One of the things you'll learn is that it's all real. Every word of every novel is real, every frame of every movie, every panel of every comic strip." you know i like what you actually say. This need to make sure every bit fits i find funny.Getting lost in a story being told is far better than this endless need to fit every piece into Canon and Chronological order. I can almost hear cries and dummies/pacifiers being thrown out of prams. Frankenstein had to fit into Draculas world Superman had to exist in Batmans. You end up like Marvel and DC were there really are no normal human beings. My Super power is i dont give a shit if it fits or not.

I've not understood the references in more than half the comments above, but I do love crossovers. Therefore, it's necessary just to let some things go and marvel at those which do fit together, or follow the rules closely enough to neatly slot together in order to enjoy them. Some franchises contradict themselves plenty within their own universes - (Star Trek, although I love it, is a prime example).
I feel the trick is to be flexible. I don't think I've heard anything in 'Confessions' that actually contradicts anything in Dr Who (at least as far as I know), so I don't see any reason why they couldn't be set in the same universe. If I'm not mistaken, Bernice Summerfield started off in Dr Who... and Dorian meets her, so perhaps that would count...

If I'm not mistaken, Bernice Summerfield started off in Dr Who... and Dorian meets her, so perhaps that would count... To date, IIRC, the Confessions range has crossed over with: - Bernice Summerfield (in the Confessions pilot and in Worlds)
- Dark Shadows (Dorian encounters the Crimson Pearl in the Confessions pilot, Dorian appears in person in Darkest Shadow, and the monster hunting organization that runs through the Quentin stories feature prominently in Confessions Series 3)
- Iris Wildthyme (part of the Worlds crossover)
- Vienna (part of the Worlds crossover)
- Graceless (part of the Worlds crossover)
- Sherlock Holmes (in the Confessions Series 1 Christmas special, and as part of the Worlds crossover)
- Doctor Who/Torchwood if you squint (Jack is disguising himself "as a friend" played by Alex Vlahos in one episode of The Lives of Captain Jack)
- and really Vlahos' character in River Song volume 1 is basically Dorian they just won't admit it
- in addition, Oscar Wild appeared prominently in an episode of Jago & Litefoot.
Dorian has also run into a number of famous pulp monsters and historical figures over the course of his adventures, along with some other well known supernatural beings. These include, but are not limited to: - Oscar Wild (natch)
- Vampires
- Dorothy Parker
- The Golem of Prague
- Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde
- Wilhelmina Harker
- the Norse goddess Freya
- a banshee
- The Kraken
- Werewolves
- Richard Dadd
- quite possibly Jack the Ripper
- and, of course, The Devil Himself
And I'm sure I've forgotten a few here and there. There's also some unresolved off-screen stuff like a presumed encounter with Dracula. Really, he's had a very storied life I wouldn't mind him popping up again in some other ranges, like as a one-off in Torchwood, or a first meeting with Quentin in a Dark Shadows short, or Victoria Lowell showing up in Dark Shadows or elsewhere, or even any of the original spooks created for the Confessions range showing up in another BF series. It's all one big crazy universe out there

Because I forgot to provide the context/source, my quote was an Eighth Doctor line from The Gallifrey Chronicles by Lance Parkin, the last EDA novel.
