I've been wanting to get into Benny's stories. Should I start with the Seventh Doctor New Adventures? Which book?
I'm new to the NAs period, really.

If you can't find a physical copy, I'd start off with Big Finish's adaptation of Love and War. Best place, really. If you like what you read/hear, you can hop along to The Highest Science. The only problem is that in order to get the whole of Benny's adventures... You're going to eventually have to go a-hunting for novels from the Virgin range.
I'd recommend the Bernice Summerfield series too, but finding a good entry point is a little bit tricky. I got into them through Timeless Passages and The Draconian Wake.

This is more or less the start of the darker NA!Seventh Doctor, so all you really need to know is that Ace has grown up a little and is a little less trusting of him nowadays.

All of the Novel Adaptations can be listened to on their own. Any necessary backstory and arc material has either been altered to work stand-alone or adapted out. As the range has concluded you can now listen to the New Adventure adaptations in novel release order.
For the Benny solo range I'm only really familiar with the last couple of CD only seasons and the box sets. 11.03 Year Zero is an ideal jumping on point, jettisoning the complicated story arc and bringing Benny back to basics (I'm sounding like Jago now!). All you need to know is in the story itself, with the loose arc continuing into Dead Man's Switch. That and Year Zero are the final two CD only releases (before you ask why they aren't on download, there are legal complications that are taking a while to sort out regardless of anything other users say to the contrary). This leads into the Epoch box set. The box sets after that (Road Trip, Legion and New Frontiers) work well as stand-alone until the Missing Persons box set, which is a finale to the box set era. From Road Trip onward there's a novel accompanying each box set. The only one I'd say is essential is Adorable Illusion, although it does need context from Missing Persons.
The three New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield box sets all stand on their own continuity-wise.
There are a couple of New Adventures with Benny that have been reprinted. Human Nature was re-released as part of the History Collection, and the audiobook is read by Lisa Bowerman. Shakedown was re-released for the Monster Collection, but to be honest if you read it for Benny you'll be disappointed.

Yeah, start with Love and War, definitely. If you're looking at audio, then apart from the novel adaptations that feature her there are a couple of other titles in monthly range and companion chronicles that are set during that same New Adventure period.
You might then just want to skip straight to the New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield. They deliberately don't need you to have listened to the rest of the Benny range.
If you're looking at books, then it's the Virgin New Adventures from Love and War, then the Virgin series of books without the Doctor, then the Big Finish books, but as others have said, good luck finding copies.

The first season of Benny audios is made up of adaptations of Virgin novels she featured prominently in. There are alterations made to give other characters like Jason the role filled in the original novel by the Doctor, Ace, Roz and Chris, as Big Finish didn't have the Doctor Who licence at this point. Guest stars in these stories include Colin Baker, Maggie Stables and Liz Sladen.

I finished Bernice “Oh No It isn’t “ Cd very witty script . I ended up working in Saudi when I was younger for a while and therefore missed out on most of the New Adventures books but only did a few pictures. Then it was all Star Trek DS9 on Saudi TV. The Novel Adaptations were pretty good intros to audio Bennie but didn’t enjoy the character till The Unbound series with her and David Warner.

Beyond the Sun, enjoyed Bernie and Jason in it but beyond that it had all the charm of a TORCHWOOD episode for me,irritated me no end 🤭It was the audio equivalent of the torture involved in watching an episode of the soap Hollyoaks...too much sexual angst.Beyond the negative the production is great. No wonder BF got the Doctor Who if It was on the strength of these and at least all the cast had good distinctive voices. What else did Matt Jones write? The Impossible Planet and The SATAN PIT Probably a favourite of mines, boy did he improve...

He’d previously written Bad Therapy for the New Adventures. It’s well worth seeking out, and follows the Doctor and Chris in the wake of Roz’s departure.

But they were written out for the audio adaptation, as BF did not have the rights to Doctor Who yet. That’s true for at least one other of the early Benny audio dramas.

This is a great story at least it takes the horror of Fascism and really drills it home unlike Matt Smiths entry into the third reich and Hitler it or even seventh Doctor etc,it takes it seriously. The one thing a companion has never asked the Doctor to do is Go to a Concentration Camp and ship them all into the Tardis thats how you know its all a fantasy. Bennie in her discussions are spot on.This is a very good tale.
