They will probably be a long time coming but I'd love two Hartnell historicals which I think would get a big 'lift' by being audiobooks rather than printed books: ' Marco Polo' - such diverse settings on the long journey, this is one to go heavily on the sound effects with. Oh yes! I'm still waiting up here on 'The Roof of the World' but the wait will soon be over.
The journey to Peking begins on December 6th, read by Zienia Merton (Ping-Cho)
*claps hands together* Wonderful! Instant purchase for me, just in time for Christmas.

*claps hands together* Wonderful! Instant purchase for me, just in time for Christmas. Snap! It will also be found in my Christmas stocking, along with thirty-five elephants, four thousand white stallions, twenty-five tigers and "all the commerce from Burma for a year". Plus of course, The Key to the World....

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

You'd prefer the JNT fiddled with version to the original text? You can already read the JNT approved version. This is a brilliant opportunity after all these years to experience what Gallagher writer wrote in the first place. This IS the book.

I'd like a print version of this too, yeah.

My CD of the Dominators came today. Pleased to see it has a reversible cover and back with the Pertwee/McGann logo to match previous releases.

A caravan journeying to Cathay dropped 'Marco Polo' off at my way-station this morning.
(As lidar noted above, I was delighted to find that both the front AND back covers are reversible which gives the correct logo not only on the covers, but on the spines too. Beyond that, my exploration will have to wait until Christmas as this one is due to be wrapped!)

A truly dreadful cover for the Terminus audiobook. The old photographic cover would be better. Interestingly it is read by Steven Pacey. Usually they get someone with a connection to the story or, at the very least, a connection to doctor who.
The TV story was directed by Mary Ridge a Blake's 7 director and guest starred Andrew Burt who played Jarvik, an old rival of Tarrant's, in Blake's 7. Maybe that is the connection?

FWIW, Mr Pacey is an excellent audiobook reader who has been working in the field for about 30 years and is very highly-regarded. This is quite brilliant news if you're a fan of audiobooks.

Weeellllll... we got K9 and Company, but then that was based on TV and had two characters known to both old and new Who fans so that may have helped that. But we've also had the Invasion of Space thing and the Annuals stuff... Um... fingers crossed?

If they wanted a reason for an anniversary, it's 75 years now since Ian Marter was born. Possibilities, possibilities...
