Im due a payout next week (voluntary redundancy from an 18yr career, but hey im now looking for a new job) and ive got vols 1 & 2 of the LC on the a-treat-to-me list, amongst other things from BF.
I really enjoyed series 1 of Blake's 7 and I liked the Turin Test, but all thoughts on this range are appreciated. Thanks

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I like them a lot. They do feel a lot like novelised episodes but in a good way.

They're excellent. Definitely a different feel to normal B7 stories as they allow for more experimental narratives.
I got the first 9 last year in a sale, and am listening to 10 now on Spotify, where you can find all but volume 12 and remnants.

I enjoyed them, the format is well utilised by writers and it explores a number of really interesting scenarios that we've never seen before, but are very much of the show.

I love them too. They were almost universally top shelf (there are a couple of stories that are just 'good', but otherwise ...)
In fact I far prefer them to the full cast stories, which were far more hit and miss, IMHO.
And with this weekends 35% off sale you could afford three boxes instead of two!!

Are they better than the companion chronicles? I struggle to make it through all but the most exceptional.

(But w the caveat that i like the CC format in any event.)

They work better than the CCs for me, and I also like the CCs. Vila just muttering away to himself, well he's practically full cast all on his lonesome.
