Torchwood does attack of the killer torrent. Brilliant!
EDIT: Love the trailer! It's an amazing parody of the usual anti-piracy ads.

Torchwood does attack of the killer torrent. Brilliant! EDIT: Love the trailer! It's an amazing parody of the usual anti-piracy ads. Well, it's a direct parody of this pretty famous ad rather than anti-piracy ones in general. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmZm8vNHBSUThe IT Crowd mocked it fantastically back in the day. One of their most popular scenes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALZZx1xmAzgAnd Ancient reality parodied the same ad last year www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALZZx1xmAzgThe music from it was turned into trance songs and remixed - almost certainly without copyright holder's permission, ironically. The ad was on just about every DVD from 2005ish for years so I guess it became a rather odd little bit of pop culture. Since when Tosh was alive the ad was in its heyday its pretty cool to have her in it

I think I'd rather someone have a go at the likes of the health product quacks who seem to be stuffing their treasure chests full of ill-gotten Internet booty (I probably don't mean an Adipose story, maybe more like what if evil aliens were masquerading as deposed Nigerian royalty in need of our bank account numbers, or were the ones trying to jam our mailboxes with Viagra offers) than to beat blood out of turnips who downloaded intellectual property off YouTube, but other than the length of time Jack is indisposed in Outbreak (that may change on the next listen), I've yet to hear much in any BF Torchwood audio that I dislike, I'm delighted at another Tosh story, and that is an absolutely stunning cover! I would pre-order this very instant had I not already done so.

There was a Sarah Jane Adventures audiobook by AudioGo called Deadly Download, that explored alien malware. Cascade (as Nick calls in the trailer) will no doubt go darker.

I was just wondering the other day why Doctor Who hadn't done a cursed video game cartridge story yet and this pops along. Neat. I think I'll have a look in at this new Torchwood range.

This sounds like it might just be another belter. Tosh (my favourite Torchwood character), in a story handled by Scott Handcock - well, what could go wrong? Remember - home taping is killing music!

I think BF is just trying to scare people out of illegally downloading their stuff. I'm sure at least one person will pirate this episode and be really freaked out.

It's always good to have more Tosh and this seems like an interesting concept.
Now there's only two releases in this third block of Torchwood stories that we don't know about, but we know we're getting more of Gwen, Ianto and Jack. I wonder if it's safe to assume we're getting another release with two cast members from the tv series (in addition to Corpse Day having Burn Gorman and Tom Price).

Great cover and sounds like an exciting release. I'm very excited about more Tosh and more Torchwood in general.

Visiting Hours also has two casts members from the TV series - Kia Owen (obviously) and Nerys Hughes, who played his mother in the episode Something Borrowed Granted, she wasn't one of the team members, but she still technically counts

Cascade (as Nick calls in the trailer) What is this story's correct name? torchwood_cascade_CDRip.tor (displayed on its BF news page) "CDRip" meaning CD ripping Or torchwood_cascade_CDRIP.tor (as displayed on its cover image) "CDRIP" meaning CD rest in peace

The name is a bit of a mouthful, so I understand why it's shortened when referred to verbally. It'll be enormous fun hearing Nick and Bengy talk about it on the podcast!

I reckon that your deduction is correct. I wasn't sure if RIP had a double meaning, because one of the penalties listed for its illegal reproduction is death.

I'm a bit....worried, to be honest if it could be seen the other way, to be honest. I love BF and hate how it's been affected by piracy (and I am so sick to death of the argument from pirates that it hurts no-one and WHAT ABOUT MY ENJOYMENT? and idioits who remain delibertly igorant of the realities of the means of production), but opening up the trailer to one of your biggest releases parodying those extreme over piracy ads could be seen as an endorsement.

For me, one of the highlights of Big Finish's take on Torchwood is just how much she's been given to work with. Tosh, on TV, felt more like a series of character attributes rather then a fleshed out character (socially awkward geek, pining after Owen, and even that final reveal), but BF have done marvels with her character.

I might be wrong but isn't the idea of the story that anyone who downloads the story illegally dies? That sounds the opposite of endorsement.
