I'm a bit....worried, to be honest if it could be seen the other way, to be honest. I love BF and hate how it's been affected by piracy (and I am so sick to death of the argument from pirates that it hurts no-one and WHAT ABOUT MY ENJOYMENT? and idioits who remain delibertly igorant of the realities of the means of production), but opening up the trailer to one of your biggest releases parodying those extreme over piracy ads could be seen as an endorsement.
I might be wrong but isn't the idea of the story that anyone who downloads the story illegally dies? That sounds the opposite of endorsement.
I know, but the punishment doesn't fit the 'crime', etc.

Huh, after yesterday's release of the Jack boxset, I'd almost forgotten that it was out today! Well, at least I have something to listen to once I'm wandering around London this afternoon!

Huge props to the people who did the post-production. This is a story where it really adds to the (dial)tone of the story.

That must've a nighmare to CD Master which I guess is the point but its way too much and I kept listening cause it made me slightly annoyed
Good Perforances as usual though and a lovely penulimate scene in particular.

Amazing to listen to on headphones, even if it did get overwhelming at times.

Amazing to listen to on headphones, even if it did get overwhelming at times. Didn't it just? Almost tipped me over the edge! Thoroughly enjoyed that. Many times I was willing Tosh on - go on, go for a coffee with him, be happy for once - but no. She remained love-lost till the end, poor old Tosh. But that's one of the reasons why we love her, I think. A really good story, and quite a persuasive message to anyone who did illegally download this story towards the end. Nice extras with Naoko Mori saying how she misses her character. I hope that means that we'll hear much more from her in the future.

Reminded me of Dead Air, but turned up to eleven. Good stuff. Wasn't someone just saying the other day that a good way to "bring Tosh back from the dead" would be to have a backup of her mind in the Hub's computers? Well there it is

Thought this one was brilliant. Amazing concept and really scary at parts. I used to torrent stuff (I promise never Big Finish though) so I could relate to this story on an emotional level. The sound design was just brilliant. I usually listen to stuff with only one headphone in my ear at work so I can better hear what it is going on but this time I made sure to keep both headphones in so I could get the whole immersive experience. This is something that only would have worked on audio, using the media to its fullest.
I also love that Tosh got another unrequited love interest here but in this case the shoe was on the other foot.

I love everything about this story, from the first second until the "Coming Soon" and extras. Another Torchwood masterpiece!

mark687 When I first started working in tv and radio I was in production, so I spent a lot of time putting stuff together in the way that was used in this audio truly is a pain in the butt. I'm betting the the production crew was really happy they didn't have to do this splicing reel-to-reel.

When I started this one up, I thought the download was iffy at first - which I quickly realized was the point, obviously, but oh, it got me good! This was easily another 10/10 story for me.

Very very mixed feelings about this one.
I spent a long time hung up on the torrent angle--the foundational plot Macguffin--apparently having been completely misunderstood; kept hearing explanations that made me think 'that's not how torrents work!' Separately, while I don't feel that a technobabble explanation is necessary for every little thing, a bit more background on what the program was would not have gone amiss. Without that, it felt like something was missing, and that paired with the torrent issue made it really difficult for me to suspend my disbelief enough to accept the premise of the story.
That said...
- I thought Stephen was both well-thought-out and well-realized - I appreciated that the story had context in the broader TW story and didn't just exist in a vacuum (ie the references to Canary Wharf, Yvonne, etc) - the editing/sound design on this, to make it sound like a file that's been corrupted, was brilliantly put together. It's one of my favourite things when BF gets bold and experimental with its releases - Naoko Mori was a joy
