Unfortunately Big Finish have once again put the release of this back. Now it's not due until October 2016! It is at times like this you can understand why they closed their forum!! However I can understand the logic as I did think it was in danger of being over shadowed by NuWho releases.

There was barely any news about it so I am not surprised.

I can't see that new Who releases make any difference really, the only people that will purchase a Charlie box set are Charlie fans, a very limit subset of Who fans.

As I have said elsewhere, I believe that BF has overextended itself. I has nothing to do with who will purchase it, but they are a small company. They can only do so much recording, post-production, marketing at once. They will want to use those resources to produce the things that they believe will be the most profitable over the niche releases. And if the 10 and Donna rumors are true, they will be putting as much as they can into that range as soon as possible. I just think they are feeling some major growing pains right now.

Well I suppose it is only a two and a half year gap between box sets.
Seeing as how long we had to wait for Charley to get her own series I shouldn't complain, but I do think that this series is facing an up hill battle to survive.
I hope that the promotion for this set when it does eventually come out isn't as subdued as the packaging was for the first box set!
Fingers crossed that she at least gets an exciting cover...

I am surprised that more of the Big Finish writers are not being courted to write for the television show.
I know that TV is different to audio, but they come up with great ideas and write excellent dialogue. Neither of which are easy to do.
However on a purely selfish basis I hope they keep writing for Big Finish.

I'd have bought the first box set already but I noticed the Viyrans in one of the story descriptions and assumed I would want to hear all of the Six & Charley stories first to have things in proper order. I'm currently working on getting and hearing those (although technically I haven't even finished the Divergent Universe stories yet).
I guess I can hope the delay might mean that Miss Pollard could be tapped to play a role in the Time War, since I'm hoping the same about the Gallifrey series delay. I hope it isn't for lack of love for the Charley range, I think India is brilliant personally.

Yes I would recommend you listen to the Charley and six stories first. I haven't heard the CP series but have heard the end of her travels with six and think they'll be closely linked

Yes, you will understand the CP boxed set much better if you listen to the Six/Charley arc. It's also just a really good arc and highly recommended.

Im worried that once they release series 2, that they will then cancel any future series of it

It is a big shame that they waiting as long as they did to get Charley back. We could have had a few box sets with her by now.
In a way I am pleased that they chose to move her away for all those high profile releases at the beginning of the year, but unless they can make her releases distinctive I do worry that her own range will disappear after only these two sets.
On a happier note I see in DWM that India Fisher is performing the audio book of the Sixth Doctors novel - The Shadow in the Glass.
I do not know if the book is any good, but I am tempted by the prospect of listening to India for 8 hours!

I'm not sure they are treating her badly, whatever your view of BF themselves now, if a range can't justify itself in terms of sales, then it's going to be over, if it can justify itself in sales and the actors continue to be available then why wouldn't it continue?
Much as I find myself inclined to believe that BF's focused has shifted away from delivering a product that works for the fans to delivering a product that maximises profit, and find that sad, it does in fact mean ranges are more likely to continue as they are more likely to be profitable.

Much as I find myself inclined to believe that BF's focused has shifted away from delivering a product that works for the fans to delivering a product that maximises profit, and find that sad, it does in fact mean ranges are more likely to continue as they are more likely to be profitable. Lack of sales can at least be partly attributed to the ending of some ranges. Nick Briggs has openly said that illegal file sharing directly impacted Sapphire and Steal negatively. Ranges like Stargate, Highlander and Robin Hood didn't get much mention on the old forum, indicating that they too weren't selling as well as the other ranges. There was a three year gap between the Stargate audiobooks and audio dramas, with the latter only getting two box sets. The sale in May 2013 for Stargate was probably the most attention the range ever got. True, the bulk of the intended market (American fans) were turned off by the fact they were on audio, and those three ranges were released in busy months (Robin Hood's six stories were released two a month over three months). Benny was reunited with the Seventh Doctor and Ace for her New Adventures because her solo range wasn't getting enough interest from buyers.
