I think I'm more delighted to hear they're aspiring to a third series than disappointed at another delay (which probably wasn't entirely expected), so I'll take the latest as good news. What was the original release date anyways? Aug 2015? "We're delighted to today confirm that next August sees the release of Charlotte Pollard - Series Two." www.bigfinish.com/news/v/charlotte-pollard-returns

No surprise regarding yet another delay to this elusive second series, however I am surprised about them announcing a third boxset.
I just hope they aren't expecting very many early pre-orders for it...

What was the original release date anyways? Was a year ago this week that I preordered (13 July 2015), and it will be 20 months from preorder to release (assuming no more delays). i was never really sold on the 'need' for this series - it may well have made sense in the emotion of Charley's departure from the TARDIS, and the obvious desire of Nick to keep working w India Fisher, but the delay in getting the first series out kind of undid that 'buzz' factor and the further massive delay for series two (and all that has happened with the new series licence in the meantime) means this series now seems pretty peripheral to BF 's main game. I must admit I'm surprised that series three has been given the go ahead.

Not bothered about more Charley Pollard box sets; the first one was ok, but not good enough for me to pre-order the second one... I'd rather Charley was back with the Eighth Doctor myself.
Great news about a Charley ST story though. I am looking forward to that!

Nick is on record as saying he's taken India out on a number of lunches to reassure her that her spin-off was going to happen (four or five years considering Charley left in 2009 and came back in 2014). He must have spent a fortune keeping her on track by this point.
After the first delay Nick should have given writing duties over to someone less busy (he's not done one of his beloved Prisoner updates for months, so he mus be very busy) and given them a storyline of things he wanted included. He's done that before. Poor Charlotte Pollard seems very much an afterthought amidst the New Series buzz, the Prisoner and other high-profile projects like Doom Coalition. It's very telling he's only recently completed the scripts since the original release date has come and gone by almost a year.

Yeah I'd have to agree with all that, I wish he'd just hand such projects off to another talent (perhaps with a bit of guidance on what he is after, and looking to achieve with the next set of stories) rather than these perpetual delays. I mean anyone can only do so much before the work starts to suffer, no matter how noble their intent.

According to this weeks Podcast (subject to Actor availability) series 2 should be recording in September/October.

I feel Charley deserved something more well rounded.

Has India aged at all? She looks stunning. Of course we could say the exact same for Nick and Paul McGann and the rest of them.

Good news...
Charlotte Pollard Series Two is in the Gallifrey Guardian section of the latest DWM. This is where Big Finish announce a new title/upcoming release. It is always the first page I read in the magazine. These announcements are usually half page articles with lots of details and a photo.
Bad news...
This news only warrants a tiny sidebar mention. No photo, no news....nothing to see hear!

This news only warrants a tiny sidebar mention. No photo, no news....nothing to see hear! That's all I'd expect for a non-Doctor release in Doctor Who Magazine, to be fair. Certainly for a non-TV-character non-Doctor release in Doctor Who Magazine. As lovely as India and Charley are.

So Dan Starkey is the Rogue Viyran instead of Michael Maloney - I guess they couldn't get him back. Personally I would have liked for Charley to leave the Viyran's fully behind, but they are Nick's creation, so I trust he has something interesting in store with them for this boxset.

I wonder why they DID recast rather than go "very sorry for the wait can't get Michael till next year you can continue waiting or we'll refund you."
rather then announce a further delay, add the per-order for Series 3 and have Series 2 recorded all within a month.
