Goodness those are big pre order prices. Regards mark687 Yikes there are high. I'm surprised they've gone so high for a first time releases. Still not sure what they actually are-are they all audios of past novels?

Goodness those are big pre order prices. Regards mark687 At least there is a decent price difference between the deluxe box & download for a change. still not absolutely sure what we are getting, are they full cast, narrated soundtracks, newly recreated episodes, CC style, single reader, multi reader.... not it sure what to do, I don't really want a load of tv soundtracks from DVDs I already own....... bit dissapointed with this......I was hoping for new stuff From the Youtube Trailer it looks like:
Collectors Edition
The 5 60s Audio only stories.
8 adapted TV Soundtracks but with linking narration
The SPECTRUM Files
Unabridged versions of the 60s books
Regards

Getting all of John Theydon's Thunderbirds novels took a great deal of effort, but they were well worth it. His tie-in novels tend to be giddily well-written and painfully difficult to find through other means. I only managed to find the best of the bunch, Ring of Fire, through a fluke. His Captain Scarlet books may very well be of the same quality.

Yeah, that sort of confirms what I suspected......which makes it not look like good value at all. i have no interest in the soundtrack stuff......and the audio only 60s stories are they unused soundtracks or readings it all seems a bit fuzzy.... i think ink I might pass on this.

But that's a lot of money for an audiobook download, when Audible credits work out between £4.50 and £8

I'll pass on this, if only because I have plenty of stuff to listen to already!

When this was made originally, what age-group was this aimed at??

When this was made originally, what age-group was this aimed at?? About ages 10 and up I think.
Interestingly the Official Gerry Anderson FB Page is running a discussion about whether or not it was too mature for kids with its undead hero and villain and frequent guns and explosions.

Reviews I read on amazon of the complete video collection made note of the darker tone as well. If these were original productions I would have serious interest but based on what I understand this collection to be, I'll pass.

These actually sound like good values to me particularly if one doesn't own any material from the series previously, but I may have my ears so full already that I may be at actual risk of buying these and never hearing them. I think maybe I'll check back in with the idea when I'm a bit more caught up.

That would be the most hilarious thing on audio ever - fast, tense action scene undercut with that slow, Matt Monro-like ballad. Sounds like a sketch for The Goon Show. ♪♫ Marina *CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* Aqua Marina *CLANG* *BOOF* *CLANG* ♪♫ Now I really want to hear this!!

I wonder what the magic number maximum will be set at for its limited edition CD box sets. 3000 copies (like The Prisoner: Volume 1 box set) should be plenty?

I, on the other hand, had almost zero experience watching Anderson series as a kid, living in Illinois and Colorado. I think Thunderbirds was the only one that ever came up, and sadly, I found it just was too clunky looking for me to ever have any interest in back then. I'm sure I'll be preordering the audio bundle of this, since I trust BF to deliver good ear-candy, but, as I did with Terrahawks, I think before the release, I'll have to dig into YouTube and find some old clips or episodes to get a feel for the show...

I don't recall any of the Anderson programs being carried on Canadian tv when I was a kid - might have been on cable, but we didn't have cable at home until I was finished high school.
