Goodness those are big pre order prices. Regards mark687 The preorder pricse for the Boxed set is only a few pounds more than the Prisoner physical release (same preorder price for downloads) and this has 7 cds while the Prisoner had 5 of course the Prisoner was all new material while the audio component of this, other than the new documentary disc, is a re-release of old material. Of course this was not created by Big Finish so they need to pay for the rights, etc.

Prisoner set 1 was a limited edition deluxe slipcover book prisoner set 2 will be the more standard slipcover boxset (like Doom coalition or Jago and Litefoot) Captain Scarlet is a limited edition deluxe slipcover book

This sounds ace, its worth reading Nick's and Jamie's thoughts on the article above.
Time to start saving, i really want this.

Nice to have the authenticity of 2 or 3 of the Angels from the original series - especially on the third audiobook which is focussed on the Angels And as Francis Matthews is sadly unavailable, his CGI replacement is a good substitute

I have watched some of the original run, but I really loved the GCI show as a kid. Started the same year Doctor Who came back.
I am now more interested in these Audios.

I would be the other way around; I loved the original show but didn't see much of the modern version with the CGI. Not sure what to do with this Big Finish range. I am kind of interested, based on my love of the original series, but I'm not too sure if I'd actually like the audios...

Captain Scarlet is often quite action/spectical heavy, something Audio is not great at. The fact that these are Audiobooks will help.

Latest Starburst (issue 436) has a 2-page article previewing BF's releases by looking at/listening to the works from the 60s On the five audio episodes are described as "an annoyingly mixed bag. They vary from an intriguing wish-that-had-been-an-episode to downright bizarre". The Starburst writer clearly prefers the 3 written by the writer of the TV21 strip (Angus P Allan) to the other 2. Shows much more anticipation for the audiobooks.

I honestly think I'll just skip these entirely. I've already got BF hanging off my credit score like a weight!

The package looks amazing. I like the book shaped boxes much more than a cardboard sleeve filled with jewel cases. I am still much more interested in the Audiobooks coming later though.

Thunderbirds news rather than Scarlet, but it's just been announced two of the guest stars in the new series of TB are Emilia Clarke and one D. Tennant Esq.

Yes, the clue to them being guest stars is when I called them "guest stars". David T sure loves a voiceover gig!
