Help please! There are 12 series to date and I have only the first, picked up for next to nothing in the recent Flash Sale. I would now very much like to say 'I'll take the lot', but sadly that's not on the financial cards, so: Which are the very, very best two or three J&L series, please. (I'm not too concerned about needing series X to make sense of series Y, unless the continuity is major; otherwise I'm happy to do a quick bit of background reading to know the setup.) I might mention that any Doctor presence would get bonus marks and Sixth Doctor presence a double bonus (at least), so am I right to be well disposed towards Series 4 for starters? Thanks in advance For 6th Doctor involvement get Series 4, the 2 Voyage Titles and Series 11
The Worlds set is a good taster for the spin-of series in general, is a self-contained story and also features the 6th Doctor.

Thanks for the advice, I think Series 4 will be a given now I realise it feeds into the Voyages (which I have) and Series 8 seems highly recommended too. Must look at 11 also. £50 gets the discount...

I think I did as well to basically take the main J&L series in release order, as I would have any other way. Virtually every box set from 1-12 has been absolutely delightful. (I'm not entirely sure I purchased them all in that order, but I did end up listening to them that way).

I bought series 3 and 4 in last spring's Jago & Litefoot sale, on the theory that older series are more likely to go on sale, so I took advantage of that sale to buy more recent releases. That worked out for me, as I was able to pick up series 1 super cheap in the recent flash sale. So this time around I could get 5 and 6 and wait to see if series 2 will be more deeply reduced in some future sale, or I can just be chronological and get 2 and 5. I'm thinking about it.

So in the end, I went with my previous strategy and picked series 5 and 6. We'll see if it pays off again. Add it to the backlog of BF I've bought on sale and haven't listened to yet!
