Since the Movellans were one of the first antagonists the Lalla Ward incarnation of Romana faced (I know Creature from the Pit was the first story Lalla filmed as Romana but Destiny of the Daleks was her first broadcast story as Romana), I wonder if this encounter will be anything special for her.

I might need to source a copy of the DVD for the behind the scenes documentary for background on this story.

Polly Walker's a cool guest star. She was one of the best things about Rome a decade or so ago and after that one of the few reasons to watch Caprica. Also she's an alumni of my fave show of the decade Line Of Duty so she gets bonus points before I even listen.

Phew, for a minute there i thought John Peel had written this. No. We are in safe hands with Andrew Smith It'll be interesting to see what he comes up with. I wasn't a big fan of the Voord's sudden obsession with honour, but their idea of blood trees were inspired.

Not based on her interview on the BBC Destiny of the Daleks CD. Do you mean this? Is the interview worth a listen? I might need to source a copy of the DVD for the behind the scenes documentary for background on this story. Sorry, I wrote a reply to this at the time. But reading the thread today I see no reply, I must have messed it up somehow.
The interview on this and City of Death is a good one - it's the same chat between Lalla and David Darlington split over the two. Lalla comes across well. Both releases are good - City of Death has its linking material written by David Darlington, who (like all right thinking folk) is a massive City of Death and Douglas Adams fan so the links are very much in sympathy with the dialogue. Around the same time Davy also recorded the linking material and an interview with Lou Jameson on Horror of Fang Rock and John Leeson on The Pirate Planet.
The four have recently been rereleased with other linked soundtracks here and here
