I didn't even try when I saw that tickets were going on sale on a Saturday. I figured they'd be gone by the time I got back online after the Jewish Sabbath. Unlikely I could go, anyway, as far away as it is.

Here is the first list of guests. It would be lovely to meet Lisa Bowerman and Matt Fitton. Plus while I have met Sophie and Sylvester separately it's nice to have them together. I have a ticket but I am still not 100% sure if I am going this year. www.gallifreyone.com/?p=22260

Big Finish Panels set for Gally:
-Big Finish 2018 Preview: Big Finish Productions, the home of Doctor Who audio drama and its various spinoffs (not to mention, original works and classic adaptations), is busier and better than ever! Come hear about some of the amazing projects on the horizon.
-Big Finish Talkback: Jason Haigh-Ellery, John Dorney and Matt Fitton join us for our annual 'talk back' session for listeners of the various Big Finish audio series.
-Starting at the Finish: From the monthly ranges to the companion chronicles, past Doctor adventures and spinoffs galore, the Big Finish universe can be a very difficult thing to navigate for the new listener (not to mention, expensive!) Our panel will help you dive into the universe of Doctor Who on audio, giving you some tips on where to start, what the best experience might be, which of the spinoffs are worth it, and much more!
-Lisa Bowerman: 20 Years as Bernice Summerfield: Paul Simpson of Sci-Fi Bulletin joins us to interview Lisa Bowerman, the director, photographer and actress who has brought to life the character of Bernice Summerfield on audios from Big Finish Productions for nearly 20 years.
-The Making of a Big Finish Audio: We take you through every step in the creation of a Big Finish audio production, from inception to release, with the people who are there every step of the way, including Big Finish's Jason Haigh-Ellery, Sue Cowley and Karen Parks, as well prolific Big Finish director (and of course, actor) Lisa Bowerman, and writers/script editors John Dorney and Matt Fitton.
I'm looking forward to being on the "Starting at the Finish" panel & talking up what Big Finish has to offer outside of Doctor Who.

That is just about my #1 priority panel this year. There are so many pieces I'm interested in such as the roles of the producer & script editor, stories with a prompt ("we need a Colin historical") vs. original pitches, long term arcs, casting, original series...etc.

Someone is live tweeting from the 2nd talk "Making BF"
Facts so far
Directors often add punuction to Scripts during recording.
Word of mouth between Actors about BF is useful for getting Actors to star in a production
A stand in who's filling in an actor who's not in a recording session aren't just reading in they give a proper performance.
If cast can't get a planet or character's name right by lunch on the fist day it gets changed
Dialogue is king
A Script for a 60 minute play = 90000 or so words
If Script Notes/ changes are made its always after a discussion
Peter Davison keeps mentioning that he'd like to see 5 and Jenny team up plotlines similar to 70s disaster movies get pithed a lot by a writer "When he pitches Feriss Bueller's Day Off he's gone"

Frankly, I'm amazed it has taken this long for someone to mention that bit of team up.

9K rather than 90K? (Think they might have to talk a bit fast - and over the top of each other - to get thru 1500 words per minute)

Inc TARDIS and so on to set the scene in addition to the dialogue.
