I must admit, I was expecting something horrendous when I saw this thread... but it didn’t seem that bad to me when I listened on this morning’s commute, well not compared to what I was expecting!
I must add though, that I’m happy to respect everyone’s views as this forum is very good for this.

Not meaning to be in any way nasty but Nick Briggs is the reason why I don't listen to the podcasts at all, but instead get any news from threads like this one, because the way he behaves at times I find genuinely off-putting. It is selfish of me, perhaps, but I would prefer to not feel personally aggrieved towards someone whose voice and fingerprints are pretty much all over what Big Finish do, because it frankly detracts from my own enjoyment of some of BF's releases, so instead I choose to actively avoid being directly exposed to Nick's various grumbles as much as I possibly can. I haven't gone as far as avoiding the podcasts altogether - I usually find the podcasts pleasant and fun to listen to, but having a go at customers is certainly an exception to that. It's already gotten a little bit old that it seems to keep coming up how certain listener e-mails are being handled. I think it's probably generous of you rather than selfish to go out of your way to avoid anything that might tarnish your opinion of Nick, and you have a very good point - he's so much the voice of Big Finish that if I get ticked off at Nick, I'll probably be ticked off at Big Finish, Jason Haigh-Ellery, Daleks, and anything Nick wrote, directed, produced or performed in. Nick is very much a, if not the, spokesperson for Big Finish - it's nowhere near the same thing as if Benji had made a rude remark in the direction of customers. I do not want to be ticked off at Nick, and hopefully Nick does not want me ticked off at him. I'm a bit baffled by the level of response in this thread. I suppose it might just be the straw that broke the camel's back for people, but it feels like a bit of an outrage bandwagon over the least offensive interaction he's had in a while. Plus, as much as it must be frustrating to have a genuine concern go without a response, the email wasn't exactly courteous in the first place. It would be a fair point that I haven't actually heard what I'm responding to, but I'm not going out of my way to be outraged, I'm another person going out of their way to avoid anything that might cause any outrage. Some of it is hard to avoid, however, and this is the third or fourth time just since the overseas price increase that unfortunate remarks have come from Big Finish that could easily have been avoided. This latest example may not be particularly egregious, but if he's finding occasion to apologize then it probably was a bit much even if he was "joshing". If an e-mail is discourteous enough to for someone to think a discourteous response is warranted, is there any reason it couldn't just be omitted from the podcast in the first place, instead of having an unpleasant exchange over it? Certainly not the proverbial last straw for me, I hope. I've often defended Nick, very much as you are here and would likely do so again - I personally think he's an amazingly talented, under-appreciated, and very likable fellow - but why should any of us have to keep feeling like we should rush to his aid because Good Heavens, he's gone and put his foot in his mouth again? I think Big Finish have often been quite wonderful when it comes to responding to customer sentiments, and I hope they will also seriously consider our sentiments about such unnecessary unpleasantries.

Don't get me wrong - I definitely think there have been plenty of times on the podcast in recent months that have been out of order on Nick's part. I just didn't think this was one of them! Still, the fact that some people have interpreted it the way they have clearly means there's room for improvement...

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Still, the fact that some people have interpreted it the way they have clearly means there's room for improvement... The issue for many of us is that a listener emailed in with a legitimate query about a title and Nick didn't respond professionally or appropriately and then edited the podcast and put it out for people to listen to. As was mentioned above this could have been the last straw for some listeners - it isn't for me but it did strike me as unprofessional and a bit "odd."

I like the idea of having someone "vet" the podcast prior to posting it, however, who's going to do it? To me Jason H.E. is the financial producer, and Nick is the creative producer. I know Jason gets involved in casting, and done some directing over the years, but for the most part he's the money man and I don't see him as one to do this. Actually, I wish Benji had the "power" to call Nick out, in real time. Heck, for all I know, maybe he does, but since Nick is Da Boss, he doesn't really go there.
I listen less to the BF podcast than I used to. But I never listened to all of it, for the last few years I'm close to "all-in" on buying BF titles. I don't need to, nor want to, hear trailers, I'd rather hear the stories when they go live or whenever I get around to listening. Also, I like the extras/interviews included with the releases, but when they clip some of them into the podcast I skip those too, I'd rather hear them at the tail end of the title/box.
Really, I mostly listen to the news, usually skip reviews, listen for unique interviews, Benji and Nick banter, oh, and Ran. So I have my finger on the fast forward button a lot when I listen to the podcast.
Okay, I had to download the latest 'cast so I could listen to this latest "thing" and well... it wasn't great, but also not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and I see I'm not the only one with that opinion.

I agree, after seeing the comments here I had anticipated something much worse, but listening to the podcast I wasn’t as disappointed with Nick as I have been in the past...prime exhibit being Charlotte Pollard series 2 reviews. If the emailer had sent that email to enquires I would have expected a much more professional response, however if you send an email to the podcast you are opening yourself up to a much different form of feedback.

FWIW, this was my exact impression, that the emailer had asked at least once before and received no reply.

I really hope we will be hearing from Miranda Raison along with Lisa Greenwood. I'm extremely fond of the Constance, Phillipa and Sixth Doctor team. It's been one of the best things going in the Monthly Ra... er, Monthly Adventures.

I think I'd vote for Canine and Chrome (Benji and Nick) podcast before their BF version.
