I’m glad you all got more out of the story than I did. I’ve been rather positive about the Third Doctor Adventures and I have nothing against traditional or authentic stories. The Conquest of Far just felt like a cut and paste job of Planet, Death and Destiny of the Daleks, when it could’ve been much more than that and traditional and authentic. I just struggled to give it praise on its authenticity when all it is is cobbled together bits of other stories; it didn’t feel like there was any effort put in to me.
As I say, I’m glad that you enjoyed it!

You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

Just realised when re-listening to Conquest of Far a couple of weeks ago, but I think this story is meant to be set during Dalek Empire I. The human political structure is referred to as the Earth Alliance which IIRC is the same set up in Dalek Empire I.
Previously I had Dalek Empire in Seven's era in my head canon, to tie in with Return of the Daleks, but maybe I should now move it to Three's era. Decisions, decisions ...

It was nothing original I agree but it was definitely enjoyable and gave Tim Treloar a Dalek story to see how he copes with these foes.hopefully soon he will get a rematch with his old enemies very very soon as it would be a great addition. The problem is with all these Time War stories how do BF do something original with them!

I agree with you about the DE connection. But I tend to think of it more as its own historical period that happens to be in the future. So just as 1, 7, and 10 all visit ancient Rome, more than one Doctor can touch down in the Dalek Empire years. I don't strongly connect it to any one incarnation because the main events don't really involve him.
