There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

A) How wonderful it is to be able to look forward to an announced Big Finish Blake's 7 release after all this time. B) How wonderful it is to be able to look forward to an announced Steve Lyons story after all this time!

I'm pretty excited for George Mann to be doing an episode, seems like he'd be quite a good fit, too. In fact it looks like a strong set of writers all round, so I have high hopes.

I forgot he'd done Fortuitas. Which just proves he was a good fit, I guess.

Hmm, not a fan, its very busy and that's one of Avons least sensible outfits I'm happy for them to recast Dayna but Yasmin is playing a character whose appearance we all know. They should either put the real Dayna on the cover or not feature her on the cover at all.

Agreed 100%. I mean they don't put Tim Treloar on the Third Doctor releases, or Elliot Chapman on the Ben Jackson related Doctor Who releases. This is very bad form, in my view.

Presumably the difference they are seeing is that Josette Simon is still alive (and working for Big Finish) and they wouldn't want anyone seeing her face on the cover and assuming she was contributing.

Then don't put the character on the cover. Slapping an unconvincing cosplay photo on the cover serves no purpose that I can see, other than looking a bit tacky. The fact of the matter is these releases are sold as a continuation of the TV series, set within the timeline of the TV show. That is why they use images of Darrow and company as they were then, rather than as they are now. Bannerman looks nothing like Dayna, which on audio is fine, because she was, presumably and hopefully, cast on her ability to convincingly play the character vocally. But to place her image on the cover as if she had played the character visually, and overwriting the true visual representation of the character, I just think it's wrong and borderline disrespectful, and personally it just rubs me the wrong way.

They may even have been asked not to. But I do think what they've done instead is made a real mistake.

Fair enough. And if my post came across in any way harsh or hostile it wasn't intended to do so, I was actually just trying to properly illustrate the reasons why I feel the way that I do on the matter, that's all.

Beats me, I thought it very effectively announces that Dayna is included, but not Josette. I don't know what is more honest and up-front. (Possibly I'm used to that sort of thing though since for some time Big Finish has been using the image of Andrew Collins on Dark Shadows releases, which effectively communicates that Barnabas is included in a particular story but not the original actor who played the character).
