Ends 12PM 9th June UK Time
In celebration of Colin Baker’s birthday today, we have some special offers on several of his works for Big Finish.
Happy Birthday Colin Baker!
Colin has not only played the Sixth Doctor since the very early days of Big Finish in The Sirens of Time in July 1999, but he has also worked on a number of other Big Finish stories. His earliest appearance was in Birthright, one of the Continued Adventures of Bernice Summerfield with Lisa Bowerman. Colin plays Russian detective Mikhail Vladamir Popov, and is the second part of the Time Ring trilogy. It’s now available for £4 on CD, just for today!
To hear about Colin’s illustrious career, and more about the man himself, you can catch him in converstaion with Nicholas Briggs in This is Colin Baker.
Colin joins Alexander Xlahos in The Confessions of Dorian Grey, in The Mayfair Monster, available for download at £4.
Written by James Goss, Colin starred in two Dark Shadows releases, The Harvest of Souls and The House by the Sea, where he plays Gerald Conway, and the town of Collinsport haunts heavily over him...
He also stars with Louise Jameson in one of Big Finish’s Drama Showcases, Pulling Faces
Joanne Taylor - former TV Diva (played by Louise Jameson) - is on the verge of her fifty-somethingth birthday, seriously single, 'hot-flushing' and about to make some drastic changes in her life. Pulling Faces is an acerbic, topical comedy about society’s obsession with youth, beauty and transformation.
He’s also appeared in The Avengers: The Lost Episodes boxsets, which are both available at £20 on CD or £15 on download. Listen to the trailer from Volume 2:
And Volume 1:
The single stories are all available for £5 on CD or £4 on Download, and The Avengers Boxsets are up for grabs at £20 on CD and £15 on Download. Or all these releases can be purchased as a bundle at £64 (plus £12 postage) as CD (this includes a download copy of The Mayfair Monster), or a Download Birthday Bundle at £48 (note that this doesn’t include Birthright).
As a birthday celebration, they’re only around for 24 hours, so move fast!
Regards

Hmm, definitely. The Dorian Gray and Dark Shadows releases are certainly worth getting though. And BF, it's Alex Vlahos not Xlahos ... you should know that Cheers Tony

Strangest birthday sale I've ever seen. [Scratches head in bemusement] A case of forgot the date and an attempt to get more people into the non Who Ranges?
May also indicate they also have planned Weekend Sales on more popular items.
Edit
(How much Postage in a Bundle?! Watch out for that in the future)

So one of the leads in a Doctor Who range has his birthday and they discount everything he's been in but Doctor Who...
I mean sure try and get people into other ranges, but it's still an odd choice.

Strangest birthday sale I've ever seen. [Scratches head in bemusement] I'll say... Not a single Doctor Who item on sale? That seems very strange indeed. It's well past time I bought This Is Colin Baker, though - so I did. Happy Birthday, Colin!! Here's to many more amazing adventures!

If you haven't got it already, The House by the Sea should be a must buy. You don't need any knowledge of Dark Shadows whatsoever to understand what's going on, and you're give all the information you need by the story.

I'm surprised by how many here find 'Here's a chance to try the great man in some other roles you may not have heard' a surprising way to celebrate.

He's primarily known for Doctor Who, so to create a 'birthday celebration' sale without including any Who titles at all is distinctly odd, any way you cut it.

I don't find it weird at all. Today they are celebrating Colin Baker not the 6th Doctor and what better way to celebrate than to show off his many roles that maybe fans of his 6th Doctor did not know about

Maybe being a bit selfish but I've got every last bit of Sixth Doctor material BF have ever released, except some Short Trips, so this different but interesting sale is good. I think 'This is Colin Baker' is a given and thanks for the helpful recommendations of 'The House by the Sea', sounds darkly good. Since this is a non-Who celebration for my favourite audio Doctor and remembering the first role I saw him in ... ... Happy Birthday Bayban, the most wanted man in the Federation ( after Blake!)* (*Blake's 7: 'The City at the Edge of the World' - a top episode and a really great villain by Colin Baker! )

As JBM says you don't need to know anything about Dark Shadows to enjoy House by the Sea. And if you're a Colin fan then revel in the fact that really he's the only person in it.

This sale is, I think, a really good idea. If it tempts people to try ranges they might not otherwise hear, then that's a definite positive. His appearance in The Avengers is pretty brief, but good fun. And yet he is the star of the show in 'The House by the Sea' - recommended on any level. As for 'This is Colin Baker' - absolutely recommended, if only to hear the great man lapse into occasional 'fruity' language!

Happy Birthday to the best Doctor of the lot.
That being said this sale is incredibly disappointing. I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up!
