Unlikely. She had been with him for a while, but had no idea about his past (or who Yana really was). To be fair, he would have killed her as soon as she spoke ... oh, wait ... Cheers Tony Chan Good point tho.

She seemed pretty surprised when the Professor changed in Utopia so I don't think she did know. Given his immediate brutal murder of her I think it's safe to say they had no prior alliance. What looks interesting is from the synopsis of the third story it sounds like the companion is actually moral, which will be an interesting dynamic with Jacobi's Master who appeared one of the most ruthless Masters.

Another possibility: what if the companion is a rogue Clara splinter, like in the DWM comic where 12 and Clara encounter a splinter who discovers her reason for existence?

The trailer gave me actual chills.
The monologue, the drumming, the laugh...
This sounds very good.

If I'm correct that image of Derek Jacobi is from Shakespeare isn't it?

This sounds very exciting indeed. Looking forward to this immensely; instantly more appealing than another three boxes of the Eighth Doctor in the Time War.

I wonder if we will hear some debate of recruiting The Master for the Time War. Also, I wonder if we will get (eventually) The Master turning into Dr. Yana.

If I'm correct that image of Derek Jacobi is from Hamlet isn't it? 'Fraid not. We did an entirely new character shoot with him.

I think it would have been hilarious had the trailer ended with "I am the Master and you will pre-order"

The War Monk - David Mitchell The War Rani - Gillian Anderson The War Eleven - Same actor, Mark Bonnar The War Drax - Simon Pegg I think David Mitchell would be better as the War Runcible. (But who to cast as the Peace Chief?)

This also opens up the door for what the other renegade Time Lords were up to during the Time War. Did the Monk try to make things better? Did the Rani use the unique conditions for her experiments? She'd probably view the Time War as an annoying distraction! Did they join forces to try and bring an end to it? Like Doctor Who's version of DC's Suicide Squad? War Master: Ya'll jokerz must be crazy. The trailer was magnificent and ominous as all heck. I anxiously await this one.

It's a shame we never got the I, Claudius reunion of Jacobi and Hurt. I like to think in some better world we'd have the same War Master set followed by a crossover box.

You'd assume the turning into Dr. Yana would be the ending, if this is a one and done set, that is... Amazing that we're getting (at least) four hours of Derek Jacobi playing the Master, I just hope at some point we hear McQueen regenerate into him, just to tie up a loose end (assuming there isn't any incarnation in between them, but I think that would be a waste of time really, McQueen is a great foil for the Eighth Doctor, and Jacobi presumably doesn't meet the War Doctor... well, especially not now anyway (sadly...), so you may as well just keep the Master progression as is.) EDIT: Oh, this is my first post? That's what I get for being a serial reader rather than an active poster, I guess...
