My favorite time of the year a Confessions of Dorian sale. I have them all already but I hope it's the chance to get more people into this wonderful series. In fact I liked the series so much that I double dipped. I originally bought it digitally (as I normally do with Big Finish) but then went back and bought the CDs. But if that's not enough to convince you... If you like complex main characters (played wonderfully by Alexander Vlahos) If you like genuine horror If you love stories that can literally take you anywhere. This is a time travel story of a different vein from Doctor Who but the settings in this series from 1900's Paris to 1950's Singapore to Modern Day London and so forth are so beautifully captured you literally feel that you are right there. There are scares, angst & drama, humor and even romance. Stories written by some of the best Big Finish writers and one of the more beautiful soundtracks. And for Doctor Who fans the series had Colin Baker, Katy Manning, Lalla Ward, Terry Molloy, Nicola Bryant, and Sophie Aldred as guest stars (and for Gallifrey fans Miles Richardson plays Harry quite brilliantly in the novel adaption) So basically what I am saying give it a try. And at 50% off what are you waiting for? I'm surprised you haven't tripled dipped . Seriously though, I second everything said ... it's one of my favourite ranges Cheers Tony Technically speaking I did buy S1&2 two more times to give away.

I had intended to pass by this day's sale, remaining aloof and remote from so transitory an event and resisting audio temptation for once... But now... while my credit card still presents the illusion of untouched plastic perfection, its portrait (to be delivered as a monthly statement) reflects the true course of events... Holmes and Dorian... and it's only Wednesday...

Well, it looks like I own all of the Dorian Gray series now, as well as Sherlock Holmes series 3-5. This sale is the best and worst thing that could've happened to me.

Oh 'eck! 50% off Iris and "code applies to all the Iris adventures, including any of our other ranges she has featured in, including Companion Chronicles, the story Excelis Dawns and the Bernice Summerfield adventure The Plague Herds of Excelis. Or try Iris’ revamped adventures in Wildthyme Reloaded!" so even if you're not a fan of pure, undiluted Iris (in her case I suppose 'neat' might be more appropriate and I think Katy Manning makes her great fun), there are other stories to consider. I'd try 'The Wormery' for some Sixth Doctor Noir from far back in the monthly range, the villains are (ahem!) slightly unusual but I think it's a entertaining and inventive story and the ever-louche Time Lady was right at home. And Colin Baker on top form as always, goes without saying!

I've not listened to any of the Iris audios (though I enjoyed the character in the EDA's) and I'm tempted by The Wormery and Execlis Dawns, but I think I'm going to wait for the likely Bernice Summerfield sale later in the week, and grab some more of the Novel Adaptations instead...

I've not listened to any of the Iris audios (though I enjoyed the character in the EDA's) and I'm tempted by The Wormery and Execlis Dawns I am not a great Iris fan but for me the character works best in a story with The Doctor, so The Wormery and Excelis Dawns are very good and definitely worth a listen. (More so at 50% off!) The banter between Iris and the Doctor - usually followng some outrageous claim by Iris - is worth the money alone! I didn't find the solo Iris stuff with the Panda very entertaining though.

I just checked because it wasn't mentioned in the news item but the companion chronicle Find & Replace is also on sale. This one is a must get. It's a really beautiful story, a true tribute to the 3rd Doctor and Jo. www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/find-and-replace-491

Maybe a Vienna Season 4 announcement tomorrow? This is my big hope. It quickly became my favorite BF series when I started it earlier this year. Thank goodness tomorrow is payday as I need to get the physical CDs, as well as an extra set to gift. So far my damage is Sherlock S3-5, all of Dorian Gray, & Iris S2-4.

Vienna day, with a bounty of 50% discount placed on each release. "From today until 23:59 (UK time) on 24th June, you can discover all the Vienna adventures with 50% off" www.bigfinish.com/news/v/discover-the-worlds-of-big-finish---day-5---viennaThis isn't a range I follow but it's worth noting the offer includes MR 'The Shadow Heart' (Seventh Doctor), the final part of a highly regarded multi-Doctor trilogy starting with 'The Burning Prince' (Fifth) and 'The Acheron Pulse' (Sixth).

I think it's a sign of how far I've gone into BF's catalogue that I'm considering going for the Vienna sale. I've had no real interest in the character (I hated The Shadow Heart, thought The Lady from Callisto Rhys was okay), but I'm running out of new stuff to listen to, so I may give it a try. I've yet to find a range I dislike so far, at least!
Are these sales going for 48 hours? If so, I may just wait to see what tomorrow brings before deciding.
