Oh crap, very very sad news, I don't think I've seen/listened to much of his wider body of work, but he was fantastic as Professor Lightfoot in both Talons and the three or four J+L audios I've heard so far, great actor and he seemed like a lovely man. RIP

So very sad at this news.
By coincidence, last night I was listening to 'The Justice of Jalxar' (which in continuity was once supposed to be the final Jago and Litefoot story, though later releases have changed that) and hoping there would be still many more new stories to fit in before it. A delightful gentleman, both in character, and as himself on all the highly entertaining J&L interview tracks I've heard to date.
With deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Horrible news. While the TV story is widely regarded as a classic, it's on audio we got to really know and love George Litefoot through Trevor's grounded, human performance and understated humour. A terrific turn and he will be a sad miss.

What deeply sad news, such a loss, I must admit I shed a tear, Jago and Litefoot, for me have been a go to audio from Big Finish for years. Condolences to his family, friends.

A fair few glasses will be raised for him down at the Red Tavern.

Hugely saddened by this. Talons has long been my favourite Doctor Who story - in fact one of my favourite things ever, it has so many elements of so many things I love in it - and a lot of my love for the story is thanks to Trevor and Christopher. Their return to those roles, thanks to Big Finish, has resulted in hours upon hours of absolute delight, and I adored hearing those two being gently and affectionately rude about one another behind the scenes. I like to think that just as Talons still brings immense joy 40 years down the line, the Jago and Litefoot adventures will continue to entertain and delight listeners for decades to come. RIP, Prof!

Just heard this news. How extremely sad. Somehow we expect our heroes to go on forever, and while I remember Christopher Benjamin mentioning he wasn't in great health a while ago in an interview, this is still a huge shock and leaves me very sad. How wonderful we have so many of his superb performances available to listen to. RIP.

I was just telling someone about the joys of Jago and Litefoot about an hour ago and how it made me want to write Victorian detective fiction. That's down to amazing writing and amazing performances - and the fact that Trevor and Christopher turned in such a strong performance way way back in 77 that they were asked back for a Companion Chronicle.
Thanks for everything, Trevor. You were a class act and I'm glad we got to listen to your fantastic performances for thirteen boxsets* and a handful of specials.
(* I'm really hoping that Big Finish has at least one bonus Trevor Baxter release tucked away - either a Tom Baker story or a Series 14)

(* I'm really hoping that Big Finish has at least one bonus Trevor Baxter release tucked away - either a Tom Baker story or a Series 14) Alas, from the BF tribute: I still have most of 12 and 13 to listen to, and The Final Act, which I will savour; so sad that after that there will be no more. Baxter always sounded so lively and joyous in the extras, I really had just begun to think he and Mr Benjamin would go on for ever... Still, wonderful we have so many performances to revisit.

My last last post as I'm going on hiatus but i can't not write something about hearing this sad news today, I'm so sorry to hear of Trevor Baxters passing, i adored Jago & Litefoot & hearing of his passing today has upset me greatly.
Thank you Trevor for being one half of a fantastic duo & performing in some amazing audio dramas as Professor Litefoot, i will cherish my Jago & Litefoot box sets all the more.
My condolences to his family & friends.

Not spiffing news to hear.
So sad to hear, the interplay between Jago and Litefoot will be sadly missed, but least we have the fantastic audio adventures for which to listen to Trevor Baxter's brilliance
