BIG FINISH FICTION BOOKS » TRUE STORIES (NOVEL & EBOOK) BERNICE SUMMERFIELD - BOOKS » TRUE STORIES (AUDIOBOOK)Released September 2017SynopsisBernice Summerfield: True Stories features six stories about everyone's favourite archaeologist, with unusual digs, daring missions and more, all set in the Unbound Universe of the recent audios. The writers are Jon Blum & Rupert Booth, Xanna Eve Chown, Tim Gambrell, Matthew Griffiths, Kate Orman, and Victoria Simpson. Archaeologist, adventurer, mother, and occasional goddess, Professor Bernice Surprise Summerfield has seen and done more things in this universe than you can possibly imagine. But none of that matters right now. Because, Benny isn’t in this universe any more. Right now, she’s stuck in an alternate universe (through no fault of her own) and this universe has definitely seen better days. In fact, it’s rumoured to be dying. Luckily, the President of the Universe is an old friend, and he’s lent her a spaceship so she can carry on doing what she does best: righting wrongs, making mistakes, saving lives, drinking... These stories won’t tell you how – or if – she makes it home. But they will tell you about some of her adventures in this unbound universe. Some of them are even true…" Hue and Cry by Kate Orman and QNever The Way by Jonathan Blum and Rupert BoothFast Contact by Matthew GriffithsFutureproof by Victoria CW SimpsonStockholm From Home by Tim GambrellBliss by Xanna Eve ChownProduced and Edited by Xanna Eve Chown Written By: Jon Blum & Rupert Booth, Xanna Eve Chown, Tim Gambrell, Matthew Griffiths, Kate Orman & Q, and Victoria Simpson CAST (Audiobook)Read by Lisa Bowerman

What's really exciting is seeing more of this Unbound Universe. The reader will probably be Lisa Bowerman, but I have no problems with that. She could read My Immortal and make is legitimately fascinating, but I wouldn't waste her incredible talents on that drivel.

That's what I mean, they did it. there was an issue when those stories went out of print. Maybe because the have it available as an ebook as well it was makes it easier

Well I think having it as an audiobook as well pretty much covers all bases, so no one need miss out this time around. In fact I'd love to see them go back and give previous Benny book releases the audiobook treatment, as well. If only...

Right, the more recent Benny books have been available in ebook format.
Honestly, though, you can understand the audio stories perfectly well without reading the books. I've listened to just about every Benny story (except the one in Worlds of Big Finish), but I haven't yet read every Benny book.
Some of the older, non-ebook Benny books that are out of print can still be found from third party sellers, some still available for relatively reasonable prices. You have to keep checking, that's what I did to get the OOP books.

It's a bargain price, how they can make an audiobook cheaper than the story it's a reading of I don't know.

Noticing that Kate Orman and Jonathan Blum makes this an instant pre-order for me, except I have no money to spend until late August so the audiobook version of the anthology is on the top of my list. Seriously glad those two are writing something for Big Finish, as far as I know Orman only had her novel Walking to Babylon adapted and Blum only ever wrote The Fearmonger, if I'm wrong please correct me.

I guess that, because it hasn't been announced as narrated by Lisa Bowerman, it has at least one other actor.

That wouldn't surprise me. Anyone other than Lisa Bowerman would surprise me! That Warner fellow wouldn't go amiss. And Kisgart if he's managed to escape Alps and clutches of the tyrannical fashion designers who have a lair there.

BF should approach them to write for the 8th Doctor audios, their four EDA Novels were amongst the best of the range and captured his character brilliantly...
