Ooh, my copies of this just arrived. I'm unfeasibly excited about a book in which I know absolutely everything that happens. It does look rather nice on the shelf beside Jack Gerson's book. There's also something about a hardback... it makes me feel terribly grown-up.

Have been considering getting into this series. Where does this book come in, as far as a watch/listen/read-through of the series goes?

Have been considering getting into this series. Where does this book come in, as far as a watch/listen/read-through of the series goes? The novel is primarily (barring the prologue and epilogue) set during the 1979 TV series rather than the contemporary-set audio series. It comes in just after halway through the TV show's run.

I read it all in one day. It was so good, I hope there are more Omega books someday.

I read it all in one day. It was so good, I hope there are more Omega books someday. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I also hope there will be more books in the series. It's a great series. The books are an ideal way to dig back into the 70s era of the show. I really hope a lot more will follow.

Tonight (May 13th) at 10pm, I shall be on Ghostly Hour on KCOR (you can listen on the interweb) talking about THE OMEGA FACTOR novel SPIDER'S WEB, and other horror based projects I've been writing. Have a listen. I shall try to be witty and entertaining.

Finished the book and enjoyed it. It really recreated its era and I felt nostalgic reading it. A shame it looks as if there won't be more if the audio series is ending.
The placement seems not quite right to me, as the following TV episode is about out of body experiences and the events of of the book are not mentioned, which is (retrospectively) odd given what Tom experiences in the book.
Also, and I could be wrong about this, I thought the Stranraer ferry went to Larne rather than Belfast in the 70s and 80s? I definitely remember doing Larne/Stranraer in the early 80s
But I would recommend it. Definitely worth getting

Definitely worth getting I was going to go with Larne but I didn't want to tie the boat to a genuine line so I made the switch to Belfast. I hummed and hawed about it. Whether I think I made the right decision... depends which day you ask me really.
Glad you enjoyed the book, though. That Omega Factor universe is one I really enjoyed delving into.

After finally getting to this in my listen through, I have to say I'm enjoying it.
I'm about two hours into it, just finishing up chapter 3. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Well its on offer this week at £2.99 as a reading by Louise Jameson. This thread seemed to have gone dead though. What were the conclusions from those of you have listened through. I see aemiliapaula read the book/ebook, what of the audio book though? I really enjoyed listening to her reading of the original Novel by Jack Gerson whilst travelling up and down the A1 a few years back, but as this is a digital DL release it would have to be an armchair laptop listen for me. Going to buy anyway, but any retrospective thoughts are appreciated. No worries about spoilers - I like to know a bit before getting into a listen, so trust me, it will not spoil my listen. I have (re)watched the TV series a lot over the years and if this captures the feel of that I will be happy enough, as it was all quite consistent in my view.

I picked it up too. Yet to listen tho. likely post a comment when I’ve listened. Likewise - will make a start tonight. A couple of chapters to get into it. With respect to James Hazeldine - anyone have any idea when 'The Last Train' from 1999 will get a release? Strong impressions from original transmission and Nicola Walker stood out in the lead role, long before Liv Chenka put her in the Doctor Who canon.

It’s taken me a while to get around to these audiobooks...you know me and not having the Cd version tbh it pisses me off lol. But I have actually got back to enjoying narration again and just completed recently quite a few audio books so here goes, much as I would love a special release of the full cast or even audiobooks based on the new BF team surely BF can invest in these more gives them even more to sell.
