BRADLEY WALSH! I knew it! I was right all along. I shan't be creating a thread to make it all about me though.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Ugh multiple companions. No thanks. There's simply not enough screen time for all these characters. Writers had a hard time with so many companions during the Fifth Doctor era and they had longer stories. The episodes are an hour long this season and Mr Chibnall does have some experience at dealing with large casts. Wait and see.

Never heard of any of them - have they done anything that has been on Canadian or U.S. tv? I wouldn't mind watching something they've been in so I could get a bit of an idea as to whether I like their acting.
I'm still on the fence with all the changes, but I'll give it a chance before deciding on a thumbs up or thumbs down.

Bradley was the creepy clown in The Sarah Jane Adventures but it isn't the best example of a normal person. He played a detective in Law & Order: UK

Wonder if they are all full time companions. Will the Doctor meet them all at the same time?
For the love of God please don't be all from contemporary London.

Wonder if they are all full time companions. Walsh is the only one of the three to actually be called a Companion.

A thread bump may well be in order. Three companions in a 10 part series??? Interesting idea, but is there going to be enough time to develop all of them? Chibnall is certainly shaking things up! Bradley Walsh should be great, never heard of the other two... As for Sharon D Clarke....perhaps she is playing Romana or The Rani?

I imagine Chibnall contacted the showrunner of Law & Order who cast and worked with Bradley day in day out to ask their opinion....anyone know who that would be?

And the companions in 80's Who were often written very generically and given little to do, New Who companions are arguably more dynaminc/plot heavy, will there be room for all 3 to have arcs in a 10 part series?

Surprised more UK people haven't heard of Sharon Clarke - done a fair bit of character work on telly but is one of the pre-eminent stage actors of the past few decades, a multi-nominated Olivier award one at that.

Don't see why not - I don't see that they'll all be full time companions in the traditional sense. They could be the equivalent of Mickey, Jack, Jackie, Wilf etc. "Regulars" without being companions in the trad-way. We've heard Chibnall is going to shake things up - doing that with the roleof the Doctor-Companion relationship could be one such way.

I thought: 'oh, I wonder what the reaction on the DW facebook page is like' forgetting the horror that is that comment section. Don't go there people, don't.

Yeah I've just been there and instantly regretted my decision. I do wonder why those commenters continue to follow the Facebook page when everything it posts apparently angers them so much.

My first thought at seeing the photo was that the Daily Mail were going to meltdown. Four regular characters (plus one other recurring character) ond only one white man. It's the end of the world...

I couldn't help but peek - saw the first "Oh, an Asian and a black, the PC brigade will...." then didn't read any more and closed the window down. I'll leave people like that to the 20th century, pity them and move on.
