I've only heard the first story so far but it's magnificent.

I'm willing to give this set a shot, despite really hating Vol. 2.
I still think Vol. 1 is one of the best things Big Finish ever produced.

The third set is the most different so far. It’s set before the first two sets too; I hope you give it a go and enjoy it.

I'm currently halfway through 'The Furies', so haven't quite finished the set yet, but I am really loving it!

Definitely my favourite of the River boxsets so far - The Lady In the Lake and My Dinner With Andrew were my favourites, but I enjoyed all four stories.

I’d be interested to hear what you guys think of River Song’s timeline in the relevant thread once you’ve finished listening to the new series.

That was definitely the strongest set so far, the 3 degrees were balanced just about right, and as usual on the sets the Doctor performer really ups their game.

Did anyone catch what name Kovarian was going to give to H-Two? I know she was going to call O, Flumen but wasn’t sure on what she said for H-Two. At first I thought “Nadir” but that doesn’t translate to anything to do with water, so my current guess is that she said Nadia, which allegedly means moist in Arabic. EDIT : I’ve discovered that she actually said Nadi, which makes sense because that’s exactly what it sounded like. (Just don’t get it confused with Nardy )

I've made it to the end of the third story. This has been absolutely wonderful, every minute of it. It's also been a great outing with two favorite writers (if I didn't know better I'd almost think John Dorney and Nev Fountain managed to influence each others stories here, which has made things even more interesting than they already were). This River-Pond to the tenth power thing keeps trying to be the one thing I might not like about this set but so far it still just cracks me up (in a good way, like sassy K-9). :-)

I have to give this Boxset Full-Marks!!!! Brilliant script writing(How do they do it?) 4 completely different stories, compelling, dramatic witty, all very clever!!Great performances from the cast, the river/5th Doc combo worked really well, and I never felt at any time, that the Doctor upstaged River, and that is as it should be.Wonderful soundscape as usual, and that theme tune is epic!! So I agree with the general consensus of opinion, best River Boxset yet!!!!

I enjoyed the first two box sets, but this one knocks it out of the park. They've captured River's voice and spirit so well here. River and the fifth Doctor have a great rapport. Must be such a challenge to come up with a story where River and the Doctor have adventures, yet he remembers nothing of them. Have to say my favourite of the lot was My Dinner with Andrew. Just flat out, go for broke, timey wimey madness. And that Maitre D'! Already looking forward to my second listen to the set.

The Lady in the Lake by Nev Fountain. Fantastic and Big Finish has done it again. Alex Kingston is a fabulous performer but the way she was written in her last few appearances in the TV show, well, a little River went a long way for me. Big Finish has turned her into a leading character who is interesting, engaging and complex and a character that I want to spend more time with. And why isn't Nev Fountain have his name on more scripts? He absolutely nails this script. Based on the strength of this one installment this box set could be in the running for strongest of the year. A great start.

I wish there was one event during the Time War that deleted the Doctor's memories of the Doctor, we don't have to have the lipstick every story.
Loved the set, Davison was brilliant. Looks like the gap in Waters of Amsterdam might rival the gap between Time flight and Arc.

Sad to see you leaving the review game. I have always enjoyed reading them and they have been very useful. I hope that you might still join us here for the odd chat about a release.

THANks for all your lovely comments, a combination of a house move, move of location in work and a promotion have left me with no time to do the releases justice so I have passed the baton on to others. Hugely looking forward to listening as a customer, especially hyped about the last Jago & Litefoot, Jeremiah Bourne in Time and the continuing River Song Series.

Pretty great overall.
One thing that I found a bit odd was the notion of River making Kovarian lose her **** and start literally hallucinating, telepathic fields or not. You'd think that capability would be something the Doctor took advantage of a bit more often....
But hey. Once more, BF continues to excel at taking a character I didn't think all that much of and getting me interested.
